Bilic under discussion

|

Slaven Bilic’s position is under discussion again. Suggestons in the national press that any one of four names are in the frame as possible replacements.

Here’s what ClaretandHugh’s Facebook readers feel about such a dramatic move.

O The media obviously can’t bash West Ham for crowd trouble on Saturday because that was the Spurs  responsibility. Team performance was excellent apart from last 5 minutes so can’t really go there either. Consequently Bilic was the easiest next option. It’s just lazy journalism. And it’s getting more than a little annoying!
O I hope that’s the case. Yes, he’s made mistakes with some questionable signings and tactics, but it’s time to buck the trend of the revolving door and get behind the manager and the team in times like this. I’d rather keep Slav and get relegated than watch the rubbish that BFS served up week after week!
O I’d hate to have to fight a war with some of these people. The minute things went against them they’d wave the white flag then shoot the general.
O Not a history buff then eh? Generals were replaced all the time.
Yeah Slav has had his disappointing moments this season, especifically with our awful recruitment which has weakened the team this season, and with his insistence on using them e.g. Nordveit.
Yes, we are playing outstandingly well. 17th. Two goals per game against (avg over 32 game run). No striker scored since May 10th. Several fallouts with players. Inability to win from a losing position.
He has steered a team contending for European places last season to one now fighting relegation.
I absolutely love the guy but it ain’t working at the moment.
OIf they’re not considering it, they ruddy should be. Bilic is making mistakes that are costing us vital points.
yes to many wrong subs, never change a team that is winning, 5mins to go.
O Er… I thought it was the owners’ fault! 😉
O If we are sitting here at the end of December and still in a relegation fight then I think his future needs to be considered.
O Slav and the boys will turn this around. The quality is there! I would not be at all surprised if we beat Manure next. Maybe even beat them twice in a week. There’s a lot of quality in the team and although the summer signings haven’t really panned out I don’t think we can expect anyone to just turn up and play in the Prem straight away. I’m sure they will be more savvy come January.
Klopp never had any intention of West Ham and never would. Howe is only option I’d consider. If we had a right back and a recognisable striker we’d be flying. So much else is good across the pitch. Losing Kouyate & a finally fit Sakho in Jan terrifies me though.

For once why can’t we be out of the media and just get on with playing Football. This season has been so disappointing right from the start – a set of dodgy results pre season, tame loss in the Europa, Carroll injured again, Ayew injured on his debut, the Sahko debacle, Valencia’s sulks, poor summer signings, awful results, all the issues with the LS…need I go on… my god that wonderful night back in May at UP seems a long time ago.

Slav whichever way we look at it is a class act We should be more than happy we have him. Yes he has been dealt a difficult hand this season – injuries, late arrivals back from the Euros etc, all contributed to a poor pre season which got us off to a bad start and then admittedly some of his tactical changes (e.g. the Nordveidt sub last Sat) have all contributed to a problem start. But we are good and getting much much better – Slav and the players and formations he plays is responsible for that – but its pretty well last seasons team doing it.. We bought very, very poorly over the summer – some is down to Slav (Tore) but not all. Does anyone think Tore and Fegoulhi are better than Moses? I don’t know who is responsible but I think a decision was taken to pad out the squad with mediocre players to mount a European campaign and it failed, and we got left with them. Message to the David’s – whenever we buy we must buy top quality to progress. Volume to pad out the squad never trumps buying smaller number of quality players. Ship out Calleri, Fegoulhi, Tore, Nordveidt as soon as we can, put others on watch – eg left back (Name escapes me but he’s injured -Mousaka?) and that scottish lad we bought but has never kicked on. Also Sam B at right back must be on watch – he hasn’t gelled into the player we want and need so far. Get the right centre forward. If the Sturridge option is true along with Ayew you spent the 40 m for Lancette?…..figure that out……
But the Hammer are still good to go. We just didn’t kick on and other teams did.
