Slaven Bilic’s words before today’s trip to Anfield suggested we may have to park the bus today.
“When we have the ball, we have a plan to keep it and get a breather or, if it’s possible, to attack them and harm them with as many players as possible.” Said Bilic.
“It’s a very demanding game that we are asking from the players. If you want to call it parking the bus, call it park the bus. But for me it’s defending behind the ball. Or park the bus — a double-decker or triple-decker.”
“But that is what you ask from your players when your opponent has the ball. It’s a very demanding game against top players, but basically you try to do that every game.”
Bilic added: “The changes you see are in the results. Three clean sheets. Last year it wasn’t like that”.
“The huge difference is the way their striker is playing. He is really helpful for them. Because of him they don’t have to bombard forward with numbers to be dangerous – they can be dangerous up front but at the same time be solid.”
