Bilic’s star could ‘help any world team’

carrollSlaven Bilic has insisted that Andy Carroll would make not only England a better team but any side in the world!

AC is back on the interntional radar for next month’s friendly away to Germany on March 23 and a home World Cup qualifier against Lithuania four days later.

And the West Ham boss said: “Andy would help any team. Andy would help the German team, the Croatia team, or the Spanish team… because he is a top player.

“He brings you everything that you could ask of a centre-forward. He is great in the air, he is very physical, and he has a great touch.

“He is very difficult, if not impossible, to mark in the box, he works hard for the team, he brings other players into the game – he has all the attributes that are required in a top player.”

Despite a long injury history the Irons boss has no problems should he return to the England fold saying:  “It is always good for us and the player to win a cap because that is the biggest proof he is in a good form.”

  1. AC is a superb player, one of the best alround forwards in the game. The biggest problem is getting him consistently on the pitch.68 Premier League starts from a possible 176 matches just isnt good enough, either for him or more importantly the club and the fans.I love the fella but have always understood why fellow supporters get fed up when it comes to him and his injuries. Most players with that injury record, especially in a vital position like forward would have been shipped out long ago.He has been shown alot of faith, time & effort by managers, club and fans and it looks like with fingers crossed we are reaping the rewards recently.

  2. Agreed Stan. I think he is top top class. I know at the start of last season we found a way of getting results without him, but normally since he joined us we have struggled without him & done well when he is in the side. From a selfish point of view I hope England write him off! Just more games to get injured…

I hope we go for Defoe in the summer as a stop gap. If we had Sakho, Carroll & Defoe then between them we could have a good supply of goals ( although even Defoe would probably go down with the Hammer injury curse). I think that would make more sense than this continual search for the ’20 goal marquee signing’ which only ever ends in frustration. The club could bide it’s time & have a proper look round for the future.
