Black balloon protests continue

|

The Hammers United Black Balloon protest continued yesterday at the Emirates as the two teams walked out.

Maybe the away protest didn’t receive as much media coverage as the game was not broadcast live on TV in the UK but hundreds of West Ham fans took part.

Encouraged by the response at Anfield, Hammers United have extended the protests to away games for the remainder of the season saying “Get your black balloons ordered if you DO love playing away..see you all at Arsenal on Saturday. Keep up the pressure and the momentum.”

The supporters’ group who have over 12,000 members are planning their next home match protest with details to follow.

They are thought to be targeting the West Ham v Wolves match on Sunday 15th March outside the London Stadium.

Last weekend thousands of protesters joined in with their Greenway Stroll prior to the West Ham v Southampton game.

I work with loads of Gooner fans and only the Spuds are worse for *****ing about how pony their team is?
Has anybody not seen Claude on Arsenal fan tv – he has copy right of “he’s got to go” and “what a naughty word disgrace it is for Arsenal to lose to Man City”
I would so love to see the Gooners have a season as bad as ours usually are to see them get behind their team

Lol – Arsenal some of the most fickle fans in the country !!

  • Graham Watts says:

According to Police 3,000 in march. The other 57,000 on way to match Hmm!

Looks about as pathetic as it really is Sean, I was watching from the opposite corner at the other end of the ground and couldn’t see any balloons at all . One thing I did notice being amongst the Gooners support was how much they get behind their team even when they’re struggling. Yes they get on the teams back when the ball isn’t going forwards but they still try to encourage them at the same time. Just get behind the team and it just might make a difference. We certainly shouldn’t have lost that game and with the chances we had should have been out of sight at half time.

Fill them with helium, may not look so pathetic! Looks ridiculous bouncing around!

I’ve heard it all now- a”West Ham supporter” sitting in the arsenal home end telling us how good they are at supporting their team, even when they are struggling!!
Have you ever been to Anfield or Old Trafford and heard our away support, even when getting a hiding??
