Disgraced former FIFA president, Sepp Blatter has launched his new book today in Sonnenberg in the Brandenburg area of Germany. He reveals in his new book, printed only in German, that West Ham’s Boleyn ground is the second best destination for football romantics.
Interestingly FIFA was founded in France in 1904, the same year West Ham moved to the Boleyn Ground.
Last year Swiss prosecutors found the former president of world soccer body FIFA, guilty year of abusing his position over a two million Swiss francs payment that was made to the suspended head of European football. Blatter and Uefa president Michel Platini were both barred from football for eight years – they insisted that the payment made in 2011 to Platini had been legitimate following an oral contract. Their bans were reduced to six years on appeal last month.
Blatter is a victim of a huge blackmail campaign. I know that British media did a lot to accuse him of all the bad stuff possible, but we do like the guy in small poor countries, cuz FIFA and UEFA did a lot to help develop football here. I’ve met Blatter and Platini in person and they dont leave an impression of real evil people.
Where do you live,Scotland? 🙂
Hello I am a Nigerian prince and I want to bring all my £m’s to England. You sound just like the sort of person that I am looking for. You can earn lots of money.
No they probably just thought let’s be nice and get back to the important things like counting the bribe money we got for giving Qatar the world cup!
in google translate it says ….
“The Upton Park as it is called in the people moon is a must for football romantics in the old home of west ham is the English football atmosphere to tracks in pure culture”
???????
They are not ‘evil people’ iron, they are corrupt people. Football needs to be kept clean or should I say become clean. Rewards should be given to those that deserve them. World Cups should not be bought & sold to whoever has the biggest back hander.
I agree, but we don’t live in the perfect world. All the politicians are corrupted. In us, in EU and even in Britain. All I can do is compare and think about the consequences. Was Caddafi a dictator? Yes he was. But look what happend to lybia – now it’s Isis base with endless civil war. Was Blatter corrupted? Looks like that, but he and Platini did a lot to develop football all around the world. And now club from my country can play in Champions league via sporting principle. And children In Belarus can watch Messi playing. And look what they want to do now. Create a superleague for 16 richest clubs with highest ratings income, ad money etc. It’s all about money, not game. And if you ask me, yes, I’m thankful to those people in FIFA and UEFA who gave us that opportunity. They’v build lots of playgrounds round the country and did a lot of good stuff. I haven’t heard bout NBA or NHL doing the same.
