Challenging times and difficult circumstances on, and off the pitch at West Ham United. The club’s Premier League position and results have caused huge concern that Lopetegui as a head coach is failing to progress. Off the pitch, reports come and go about shortlists, possible head coaches waiting in the wings- who’d be a coach?

One report from yesterday which we highlighted, you’ll remember, was The Times article stating that a West Ham United board meeting had been scheduled for this week to discuss head coach Lopetegui’s future. The last part of my article confirmed we’d be asking our high ranking source at the club whether there was, indeed, any such meeting planned.

Sean Whetstone, Claret and Hugh’s associate editor, received a reply which is pretty clear. Posting last night on his @westhamfootball twitter x account, Sean confirmed the response: “A report suggesting that David Sullivan and Tim Steidten will meet in person over the International break to discuss the future of the head coach has been denied by a club source saying “there is no truth in the story”.

So, accordingly, there you have it. No truth that a meeting has been arranged to discuss the future of the head coach, according to the source at the club.

Now that news, and whether or not you feel dismayed or relieved – depends upon your viewpoint and your opinion of the football. And that’s a whole other story.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. 'Football is Life' oh yes. Let it raise your spirit but never darken your mood. Life's too short not to enjoy the journey with our Claret and Blue heroes n' villains.

Shambles of a football club, Sullivan out !!!

    • Matt says:

If Sully lets Tim pick the new manager, it doesn’t have to be “Sully out!”

I’d see it as admitting a big mistake, a chance to redeem himself and win back the fans. It would also show Leadership and the chance to look forwards.

The sun ☀️ is shining and I’m trying my best to have a positive mindset that even leopards can change their spots.

Gutted as for me loptegui is a worse manager than moyes and I wanted moyes out but at the least bring in a decent replacement

    • Matt says:

      Don’t get too down Steve.

After it went so pear shaped with Amorin flying in for a chat and it being out in the open, lessons surely have been learned.

Like you I thought we needed a new direction. It’s a shame Moyes didn’t leave on a high after winning the 🏆 We all respected him for that regardless of wanting him to stay or go.

INEOS should’ve got rid of Ten Hag after he won the FA Cup 🏆 Very similar scenario IMO.

I think we are at a critical stage and like Man Utd we have a chance to secure a progressive coach!

If we do, things will be positive both on & off the pitch. We can all dream again and the toxic situation disappears.

Denial doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

Keeping something as important as this shouldn’t be out in the public resulting in more ridicule.

  • Robert Schmidt says:

The meeting will not be in person, Facetime or Skype.

  • Andy⚒ says:

Sullivan the cancer of this club

    • LORD ROBERT VENOUR says:

Sully is never wrong it’s always others so I’m not surprised loppo will stay and we’ll end up bottom 3
