Even by West Ham standards the last 24 hours has produced a number of disturbing new stories which paint a bleak picture of the club.

Backstabbing, finger-pointing and a general toxicity is being reported as people within the clubs seemingly move their chess pieces into position ahead of the imminent departure of head coach Julen Lopetegui.

The one person to come out of the last few days with any credit at all is Lopetegui himself which is saying something considering he’s just been thrashed by Liverpool in the carabao cup.

Tim Steidten has been accused of trying to undermine the manager whilst trying to put as much distance between himself and the appointment as possible. In other stories various websites claim that the club are keeping a close eye on Steidten himself and he is under scrutiny following a summer transfer spend up.

And finally there is talk of a boardroom bust-up as the club seek new investment amidst whispers and rumour of mistrust in the club hierarchy.

It’s highly likely and in fact quite probable that’s some of these rumours are unfounded but I doubt very much that all of them are. Nonetheless a very unhealthy picture is being painted of West Ham at the moment and it cannot be a good place to work.

As a fan I’m absolutely gutted because despite the Promise and hope generated during pre-season it would appear that there is something rotten at the club. Some like Tony Cottee believe a young progressive manager is the answer to West Ham’s woes, personally I’m not so sure.

The Hammers currently have a feel bad Factor and as things stand I’m not entirely sure there is a necessary environment for anyone to thrive.

A victory today against Brentford is needed more than ever.

All sounds very sad. What a mess. The best we can hope for is a win today.

Otherwise it might be a return of Moyesy and Pearce to rescue us from relegation – although it’s maybe too early to consider that prospect.

I don’t mean a permanent Moyes return (and I know it won’t happen – don’t even really want it). I’m pretty sure that just about everyone agrees we need to move on and up from that.

But right now it’s a real mess: definitely on the pitch and perhaps off as well.

I find it funny, we lose to Liverpool at anfield, we always do.
We lose to man city, we always do.
We lose to Chelsea, we generally always do.
We beat palace away, we let in 5 there a few months ago, so not bad.
We get a point at Fulham (one of the best attacking teams at home stats say) we got done by 5 a few months ago.

What exactly has changed that the world has fallen apart?
We’re just doing what west ham do…

I’m not so sure Tony Cottee wants a young progressive manager because apparently he said on talk sport the other day that Moyes should never have been sacked as he was a brilliant manager. So I’m not sure we should give him any credibility.
I think it needs to be established if people have actually said what they are quoted as saying. I assume someone saying something on talk-sport will have some level of proof. But if it is established that TS said publicly that he didn’t want JLo, and after only 5 poor games then that isn’t good or processional it is actually quite underhand. Fast forward 5-10 matches and things are still the same then it might be more justified. In a world of fake news I think we should establish if these quotes are definite or not before putting them up even if they are being reported on other websites.

Hopefully kretinsky and tripp smith . Have had enough of the @@@@@@@ . And want the club run properly here’s hoping .

  • Dave says:

Didn’t tony cottee front up a dodgy consortium a couple of years ago, they had no money and were involved in mass fraud I read.
Keep him in the players lounge and away from anything to do with running the club.
Keeps saying he wants the best for the club, but couldn’t wait to leave back in the day…

Nothing will change until Sullivan and Brady go. A cocktail of incompetence, arrogance, control freakery and dishonesty.
It’s no wonder that top players , coaches and investors give us a wide berth
