West Ham ITK ExWHUEmployee has revealed this morning that Nuno Espirito Santo is set to go all guns blazing tonight with an attacking team.
Ex was providing an update on his West Ham Way Podcast, and during the final few minutes, Claret & Hugh were able to speak to him directly to discover what the Hammers have planned for tonight’s crunch game against Wolves.
All eyes on crucial Wolves clash
West Ham kick off the Premier League weekend with survival hanging in the balance, and nothing less than a win will do.
Victory would see the Hammers climb out of the relegation zone and then watch results for Tottenham, Nottingham Forest and Leeds United play out over Sunday and Monday.
Nuno ready to take the gamble
According to Ex, it appears Nuno has fully grasped the need to go for the win and is set to select an attacking side.
Speaking within the last hour, he told me:
“They [the club] realise the importance of three points and are expected to go with an attacking formation to try and give ourselves the best chance.”
Time to be brave
Music to my ears, quite frankly.
Fortune has to favour the brave against Wolves tonight. Get the win at the London Stadium and it puts huge pressure on the relegation rivals.

The team have always looked better attacking. I’m worried at the lack of creativity from from midfield; Summerville, Bowen & Traore (against Leeds) are the ones creating chances at goal. Also midfield gets overrun quite easily, but anyhow, attack has worked best for the team. I’d even start with Kante and switch to Soucek’s experience later in the game, for this reason – just a thought.
My biggest hope is of goals early on in the game so team do get to score 2/3 by end of game as Taffyhammer says. Don’t want to see Taty or Pablo holding heads in disbelief like stage actors because they hit a post, skied the ball, or keeper saved it – bury those chances lads.
The defence is pretty solid, coping well, keeping us in games but in the next 3 crucial games (winnable but tough), fate will not be so kind & let the team make these cup-style come backs. They will shut up shop, put 5 at the back if they get ahead and take 3 points with a 1-0. Everton for sure, with David Moyes. We need goals to back up this attacking style of play.

Shame we didn’t have this alleged attitude earlier, I’m not convinced it will actually happen though. This game at best has a draw written all over it , either that or we go one up and defend only to lose by one or two goals.
Absolutely time to be brave. We can not afford to take the chance of trying to contain Wolves all game and hoping for a goal to win the game.
Those days are gone. We need to be three up and two minutes to go before we can relax just a little. No point in saving ourselves for the next game. We must make certain that we win this one.
