Boleyn Book Competition

|

We are running a book competition to win two copies of the excellent ‘Farewell to Upton Park’ which has been produced by Andy Hooper and the Daily Mail’s Lee Clayton.

It’s a smashing homage to the Boleyn and all the pictures are exclusive and never seen before.

To enter simply post your favourite picture (taken by you) of Upton Park or surrounding area and post it HERE

Alternatively and for a second chance to win please leave a few words detailing what the Boleyn meant to you under the video itself.

The video also contains some unseen footage of the old stadium and an interview with the producers of the book.

The Passing of the Boleyn Ground 1904-2016.

Don’t stand bawling for The Boleyn has gone.
The Chicken Run no more, we never thought
though memories of Bobby linger on.
Di Canio scored. Eyal & Hartson fought.

The thousand games etched in my soul
both won or lost, but by a single goal.
Hints of sunshine on the rain soaked stands
roars of laughter, the warm up, clapping hands.

Of bubble flights which flicker in the light.
dashing for the loo busting in cross eyed pain
of eating Nathans pies neath floods at night
in howling gales or lashing autumn rain.

Don’t weep for turnstiles that will no more turn
move on; it comes to each of us in turn.
