Boleyn Ground Last game cancelled

|

LadiesThe proposed game between West Ham Ladies and a West Ham ‘All Stars’ team scheduled for Sunday June 5th has been cancelled.

The Club has taken the decision to call off the match in response to direct comments from supporters, a poll conducted on the official website and fan feedback on social media.

West Ham Ladies played under the lights at the Boleyn Ground back in March when they faced Spurs Ladies and dialogue remains open between West Ham Ladies and the Club with regards to the hosting of future fixtures.

West Ham Ladies Joint-Chairman Stephen Hunt said: “Obviously the Ladies are disappointed but myself and Jack Sullivan will get together over the summer to see what else we can do in the future.”

Misogyny? Difficult to think otherwise, considering the Upton Park v Royal Engineers game, plus all of the other lucrative on-pitch activities going on at the ground. This would have been an opportunity for people like me, who can’t cope with the hustle and bustle of first team games any more to have one last visit. Well done all you precious pxxts.

  • Billy the Hammer says:

Bunch of c#nts.Nothing more to say.I hope they are well happy with themselves.Well done f#cktards for stopping people like Tel going.Round of applause for you & your final memories not being tarnished. But still all the corporate events & the Royal Engineers match go ahead.Selfish b#stards!!!!!

  • Tiddy says:

Why why why what difference would it make let the ladies enjoy the old gal. I’m embarrassed to be a fan

  • RickHammer says:

Join the club Tiddy it is embarrassing. These people are selfish as has been stated.Especially when there are numerous other events going on.If I was the Ladies team I would think our fans are complete b@stards.Come to think of it some obviously are 🙁

  • Radai Lama says:

Well all I can say is that I hope these same mugs don’t start shouting from the rooftops about giving the ladies team more support. The irony of reading one of these so called supporters of the ladies who then doesn’t want them to play at The Boleyn because they don’t want anyone else to ever sit in their seat, they wanted to be the last.
So now the ladies cant play there but other matches will go ahead regardless. What a f*ckin futile protest.Im with Rick,i bet that the ladies think some of our fans are total w*nkers, they are right.

  • mattefumi27 says:

All those people who protested against this match believe that they are the owners of the memories of the Boleyn Ground, the guardians of the Old Lady, the owners of the entry key of Upton Park… in my opinion, they are just frustrated. 😉

  • Billy the Hammer says:

I will stick to selfish b#stards Matt. Will they now arrange a protest against the Royal Engineers v Upton Park FC match.I hope there is a really big crowd for it just to stick it up these fans asses.

  • Radai Lama says:

I’m going to start my own protest called No To The Juve Match.I can’t be bothered to go but want no one else to sit in my seat before I can be the first at an Irons match 😀

  • StanThe Man says:

So there you have it,official. The selfish pigs win.Congratulations, may your next sh£t be a hedgehog.

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

The Dave’s should immediately reverse that decision it is madness, the last game to be played at the ground will not be the Man U game anyway so the vote was flawed to begin with, this is no different to any of the other corporate / charity matches being played, its a disgrace anyone that voted for it to be called off imho should be ashamed of themselves!!!

  • EastStandTeddy says:

I hope these selfish imbeciles are feeling good about themselves.I was going to take a good friend to this ladies match who can’t make it to the mens matches due to his immobility. He doesn’t feel comfortable in the bigger crowds but was keen to go to this match.Well now I will take him to the RE v UP to say his farewell to The Boleyn though he wanted his last time to be watching a West Ham team, seems the ladies dont count as that now or when it suits. It is mind blowing the selfishness of some people in this world, absolutely mind blowing.Think of No.1 & nobody else.It makes you despise & feel ashamed of some of our fans!!

  • EastStandTeddy says:

Also as an aside it makes me sick to the back teeth when I see this #WestHamFamily being mentioned. Its total baloney, this has more than proved that. The #WestHamFamily, you are kidding.

    • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

completely agree mate, our so called family club wants to tread on the Ladies who have to struggle to make ends meet.

  • WHU647580 says:

Absolutely terrible decision and a shockingly bad process from start to finish
Announce the game, after much work, then react to it on Twitter via Son of, to then have a flaky vote which can be influenced by any fan of any club then to get 52% saying play it and ignore the result anyway

Love this club, love the board but sometimes we are seriously 2 bob on certain things and we’ve got some pretty selfish fans as well as naive if they bought a shirt thinking a ball would never be kicked again after bobby switched off the lights ffs

  • Gobby says:

They should have announced it was happening & that was it.No turning back,no vote,it was going ahead no matter who said what. They should never have started pandering to sulking fans imho. The vote is a joke,it was apparently hijacked so as to make it a ‘Yes’ to the game but even on the vote here it was a 6 to 4 split amongst fans which was hardly a landslide. Its too late now.I see it has even made the main BBC News website. Its embarrassing when it says a charity match has been called off due to fan pressure.Totally embarrassing

  • slaven a laugh says:

“this club ain’t run like a circus no more its run like a proper club”. Mark noble. Don’t speak too soon Marky boy. There’s always a little bit of scandal just round the corner with us and you know it mate.
