West Ham are still keen to bring Wilfried Bony to the club on a potential loan deal despite the imminent signing of Simone Zaza.
Slaven Bilic is determined to sort out the striker problems before the transfer window deadline but remains angry at the Europa League humiliation by Astra Giurgiu.
He will spend the final week of the window sorting out his attack to ensure the Hammers do not suffer similarly in the League and Bony could yet arrive on a short term deal.
Enner Valencia is a target for Aston Villa who have already had an ambitious bid rejected.
With loan signing Jonathan Calleri having made an unconvincing start and injury-prone Andy Carroll out for up to six weeks with a knee injury, Bilic is determined to solve his issues quickly.
We were told: “Bony will bolster our options and there could well be more inward and outward movement before deadline day.”
I think the humiliating loss to Astra has galvanised all at the club in what is the most important year in our history to ensure we do not suffer the same in the league. Carroll cannot be trusted to be fit enough to lead the line and I would be surprised if Sakho completes another game let alone season with us. I would like to see Fletcher get a good run out alongside the main man which will be Zaza and can see Bony and yes Calleri being good replacements. Would still like to see a right back brought in.
If Bony comes I will forget all about Astra !!

I think it is a bit harsh to say that Calleri has made an unconvincing start, he has only been with the team since Thursday last week. This is coming off the back on the Olympics and never playing in this league before. As has been mentioned with other foreign signings it can take time to adjust, not only to the physicality but also the mental speed of the game. The chances I’ve seem him have are chances that I think he will bury in the future but he just needs to improve on his decision making speed. Also if he is played in a front 2 then there is not as much pressure on him to score.

Wow I asked the other day how long it would take someone to say Zaza isn’t good enough? Well i’ve just got my answer, about 36hrs. Then again who ever we signed there would be somebody not happy.

I liked sakho & thought he was our top striker until whatever has happened & he has been sulking ever since and has burnt his bridges. Slav doesn’t put up with that shte. Is it over ££ ?? he signed a contract paying him X pw, what other people are paid is fa to do with him. Is he really injured? I doubt it, does he want guaranteed 1st team starts? Prove he deserves it. Personally i don’t care what it is, i just wanted him to score lots of goals. Imo we wont see him in West Ham shirt again.
Calleri will be a success and Fletcher looks good, Zaza is a good player or he wouldn’t be Italian international. Bony would be a good signing. Valencia has to go asap, he has delivered less than nothing for far too long.
Johnboy you are spot on in you analysis. We are in the Panic room ! There is a saying in business that the day you buy is the day you sell. I can see this 25m for Zaza just going down the drain because no one will want to sign him. he does not even have the physique to play PL football. The two Davids, Bilic and Karen Brady feel free to waste your money but do not do so at the expense of our beloved hammers. What a shocking piece of business. We have enough strikers in Carroll, Ayew, Enner, Sakho, Calleri, Fletcher. Why do we need more any more – everyone is laughing at us over this deal (Juve cant believe it !) We need a RB that’s what we need.
Carroll is always injured, Ayew is out to xmas & isnt a out & out striker, enner…? Sakho fuk knows whats going on there. Calleri & fletcher i agree with you. We need goals & 4 out of the above six can’t get enough between them & the other 2 are unknown.
Fair point Essex re Ayew, Carroll and Sakho will hopefully be back soon. That means we have 4 strikers to choose from. We can also play Antonio up top if needed. I believe we have one top striker in Sakho, Calleri and Fletcher deserve their chance but I believe Carroll and Antonio are just not at the races even though I have great time for Enner. We possibly need another striker but I just cant justify 25m for this guy – I hope he proves me wrong but the likelihood of that is small.

Eddie, I am not on this forum to slate other people’s opinions, I am a concerned hammers and I don’t pretend to echo all or the majority of fans opinions. I have about 5 close hammers friends and the opinions I give on this forum reflect only their opinion so its not just my own opinion. Have a look at the Juve fans forums if you don’t believe me and secondly I have seen him play in the euros and for Juve he just does not have the physique from what I have seen. Btw my friends also agree so just our opinion.

FFS, Antonio is unproven at premier league level, what are you at. Moses all day long followed by that Danish lad. I have seen this guy play, crazy stuff going on, I am wondering who is making tis up. Moses deal cannot be put in jeopardy. Forget tis qukly before you end up losing out on Moses. As much as i disagree with Johnham1 most of the time, he is entitled to his opinions as much as everyone else. Johnham, a lot of your posts are at times very negative but there no point just saying things you don’t mean. This is the correct place to air your views and like I said whoever we sign someone won’t be happy & say why.
