Bookies reckon Mawson odds on for Irons

West Ham have become big odds on favourites to sign Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson.

A story to that effect has appeared in Wales On Line which has been well ahead with the news concerning  Mawson and goalkeeper Lukaz Fabianski.

Their latest story declares: “It seems the Hammers’ pursuit of the 24-year-old has intensified this week, so much so that Oddschecker now have Manuel Pellegrini’s side as the 4/9 favourites to take Mawson to the Olympic Stadium in the coming weeks.”

And they quote Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “Bookmakers are pretty certain that Mawson will not be plying his trade at the Liberty Stadium next season, making it 1/6 that he leaves Swansea this summer.

“Spurs have been overtaken by West Ham as the bookies’ favourite – and with 78 per cent of bets from punters in the last 24 hours – the general consensus is that the Hammers are in pole position to get their man.”

  1. I cant see Peillegini wanting to sign this lad – a total waste of money. No one else is in for him – I wonder why !!!!!

  2. Lets hope he is better than Ayew was, would rather have had Diop.

  3. This always makes me wonder why people listen to bookies they’re a businesses that makes money from transfer rumours mostly untrue that’s why they’re still thriving, fake and false news is their business.COYI
