Bookies stretch Irons odds

|

bookmaker_1830628cThe nation’s bookies have stretched the Irons odds of reaching teh Champions League to around a massive 14/1 ahead of the Arsenal game.

Late equalisers in the 2-2 with Chelsea and then Crystal Palace last weekend to leave them three points adrift of Manchester City in fourth.

And that has left the bookies unimpressed with Manchester United sitting two points above the boys. Tottenham are 1/50 with bet365 to make a return to Europe’s premier competition with Arsenal 1/40.

Manchester City are much shorter at 1/2 with rivals United currently 6/4. West Ham are six points ahead of Liverpool having played a game more the Reds, currently 25/1 to pull off an impressive climb into the top four.

Those odds are good value I reckon, we can take 3 points off the gooners & Man Utd are away to Spuds on Sunday. A win in the QF replay would give up proper momentum going into the Leicester game and after that who knows? And we’re only 8/1 with Hills & Corals, which I believe is a better reflection of our chances.

    Sad but true…

What a difference the ref’s have made had we got the two wins plus FA cup semi final place already in the bag, we would be sitting 4th only 3 points behind the gooners and without an additional game next week to worry about. We will do well now to finish 5th I expect us to get more poor refereeing decisions against Man U possibly the gooners also, this season is not the FAPL model Scudamore wants, he only wants the European big names and big spenders in the top 4 or 5 so he can continue to hawk the FAPL around the world around a stable model of huge spending teams drawing headlines not for sensible spending or management but for making world record transfers massively overspending on ridiculous wages as is the case with all the other gig Euro leagues.
