Borriello “closer than Nocerino”

|

Roma striker Marco Borriello is believed to be closer to an Upton Park move than fellow Italian  Antonio Nocerino.

Amid reports that Nocerino had arrived in England we were told that the Borrielo deal was “more imminent” than that involving the AC Milan midfielder.

That’s not to say both deals won’t be concluded, merely that the Borriello deal is “more advanced.”

We understand that manager Sam Allardyce and co-chairman David Sullivan have been working hard to clinch both loans.

But following the collapse of the Lacina Traore deal, details of the moves to bring the pair in is being closely guarded.

Meanwhile Sky Sports which spent much of Thursday claiming that both were almost done deals were, today backing off and in one report claimed there was ajust a 30 per cent chance of the players becoming loan Hammers.

That is not Claretandhugh’s understanding but a trusted source told us: ” We have seen the volatile nature of the January market with the Traore deal.

“We are very optimistic on Borriello and hopeful on Nocerino.”
