Bowen/Antonio boost may be on cards

|

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has hinted that midfielder Wilfred Ndidi may remain at the heart of defence for the game against the Hammers tomorrow (Sun)  ahead of more established defenders like Caglar Soyuncu.

Ndidi partnered Daniel Amartey  in the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool on Thursday night, with Soyuncu dropped for the first time this season.

Rodgers said: “For us, unfortunately, the availability of our best centre-halves hasn’t been there this season. If you don’t have that consistency there, you get the inconsistent performances.

“The two centre-half positions are very important, because that gives the stability to the rest of the team.”

However, the Hammers may view such a section with some optimism given the goal scoring form of Jarrod Bowen who has scared many top line Premier League defenders this season.

With 11 goals in his personal bank the winger cum striker has made it clear he is looking for big numbers on the goal scoring front this season.

Mikey Antonio too may be encouraged by the news given he needs a return to finding the net after suffering something of a drought over recent games. This may increase his opportunities.

With manager David Moyes seeming certain to play Kurt Zouma the only change from Tuesday night’s line up may be Manu Lanzini coming in for the lack lustre Said Benrahma.
