Bowen brings abysmal record to an end

Jarrod Bowen has become the first Hammers front man in over 2o years to manage 15 goals in a single season.

And that in itself is remarkable given that he has been suffering from an injury he sustained at Anfield that kept  him out of the first team for a month with a heel injury.

After managing eight in his first season after joining the club from Hull City, the No 2o  – who has also been used as an emergency centre forward – has more than doubled that tally this term and rarely produces anything other than a seven out of 1o or better rating;

The last time the Hammers had a striker score 15 or more goals in a single Premier League campaign was the magical Paolo Di Canio – netting 16 times in the 1999/00 season.

Horrific recruitment has created dreadful viewing for the West Ham fans for two decades  – they have craved a goal scoring machine for years and years.

Jarrod has brought those days to an end and if Mikey Antonio can add another five to his current tally of 1o we really will be in business.

  1. Remarkable player but when you add the assists and goal scoring opportunities that he creates to the goals that he scores is when you really see his true value to this West Ham team.
