Bowen can’t wait for the big three

Jarrod scores on his first Irons appearance

Jarrod Bowen can’t wait to pit himself against the big three as the Hammers prepare for their tough opening to the resumption.

This is what he joined for and has been dreaming of since he arrived from Hull with the games against Wolves, Spurs and Chelsea being just what the doctor ordered as far as he is concerned.

It’s fair to say that the former Hull City start – who has shown an unerring eye for goal – has made as exciting a start to his Hammers career as many of us can remember in recent times.

And having kept himself fit during lock down and played his part in a couple of practice matches he’s delighted to be awaiting the three big games.

His dynamic approach – which sees him cover every blade of grass is what we may have been lacking for some time – and why we approach the resumption with more than a little confidence.

Speaking at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/june/16-june/jarrod-bowen-lockdown-life-my-new-london-home he said: “I’m itching to get at them. I said when I joined that playing the big teams is what you dream of.

“We’ve got Wolves, Tottenham, Chelsea – three tough games – but we can play with a lot of confidence. We’re probably not expected to get much from the games, so we can work that in our favour.

“We’ve got three games so if we can pick up good results in those, it’ll give us a right head start going into the last six.”

“Everyone’s in the same boat. It’s going to be tough, it’s definitely going to be strange, but the games that we’ve played here without fans have got us used to what it’s going to be like. It’s been good, and all we can do is play the conditions I guess.

“Our fanbase is incredible. Even since I joined – I’ve only been here a short amount of time – what I’ve received from the fans has been full of nothing but praise and positivity.

We can carry that into the games that we play – even though they’re not here, physically they’ll be at home, watching, supporting, and we all know that.
