Bowen gets a huge reassurance

Jarrod Bowen has been assured that he can make his way into the World Cup squad.

After being used as an unused sub against Italy and left out of the squad altogether against Germany his club manager believes that he can gain place in Gareth Southgate’s squad.

Bowen received the assurance when he returned to Rusgh Green where David Moyes was keen to boost his confidence.

He told reporters: “I told him the minute he walked back through the door. You get us four or five goals between now and the World Cup and you will be banging on the door as you were before, and he is more than capable.

He had a shot blocked against Everton late on and you need sometimes for it to go through his legs and a lot of things change.

Jarrod is a goal scorer now. He is a really good player to have in your squad. He can also come off the bench and he is no problem as a boy. I have got big hopes he will score the goals between now and the World Cup..

He was absolutely thrilled to be involved with England, he thought it was a brilliant trip, and I always say to them go away and look at the best players, see what they’re like, train with them, get the levels and know the levels you have to train and play at.”
