Bowen: I love playing with Paqueta

Jarrod Bowen was effusive in his praise for his teammate, Lucas Paqueta, following West Ham’s impressive 2-1 victory against Frieburg in the Europa League. The Brazilian maestro showcased an exceptional performance during the game, establishing himself as the standout player on the pitch. Paqueta, reverting to his favored central role for this Europa clash, displayed an outstanding performance.

Bowen, who provided the assist for Paqueta’s opener, was quick to commend the Brazilian after the match in Germany. He praised their strong start, effective pressing, and the early goal they secured. Acknowledging Frieburg’s reputation as a tough side, Bowen emphasized the challenging atmosphere they played in. Despite the difficulty, the team exhibited resilience, dug deep, and secured the three crucial points.

A Paqueta swap deal might not involve Cole Palmer

The first goal, orchestrated by Bowen, showcased their practiced manoeuvres, and Paqueta’s impressive header placed them in the lead, a testament to their preparation. Bowen emphasised Paqueta’s continuous improvement by stating;

“Lucas gets better with every game we play in and you never know what he’s going to do with the ball. He’s got so much about him, with so much flair and control. But the one main thing when playing for this Club is the hard work. And you can see he’s always running around, wanting to win the ball back and take the tackles from the opposition.

“He takes the pressure off us and, when we need a focal point, we know we can rely on him. He’s getting better in every game and I love playing with him.”

Wonderful words from Bowen indeed and it’s hard to argue with any of it. Hopefully his appreciation for Paqueta might stretch towards him signing a new deal . . . one can hope.

    Have to get Bowen’s contract sorted before Jan, when the will he, won’t he Paqueta leaving thing comes round again. I don’t really get the Bowen situation. If he genuinely wants to stay then pay him what he wants and get it done. Can’t believe he’s after more than Paqueta is on. If for nothing else to preserve his value.
