Bowen
His brilliant effort against Brighton did the job and according to the official site at www.whufc.com took 55 per cent of the vote to beat another of his August goals in to second – his screamer at AFC Bournemouth.
Bowen’s Brighton goal was one that will live long in the memory, as the Hammers executed a devastating counter to move 2-0 up at the American Express Stadium.
Saïd Benrahma progressed down the left hand side, before checking and waiting for Jarrod Bowen’s lung-busting run from the opposite side.
Bowen’s first touch killed the ball perfectly before he poked it past Bart Verbruggen in the Seagulls’ goal. The Hammers would go on to win 3-1 and end a 12-game wait for victory over the South Coast side.
Bowen’s August performances could land him more personal silverware, with the former Hull City man up for two Premier League prizes.
Two goals and an assist in August saw him land on the shortlist for the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month prize.
Meanwhile, his curling effort from outside the penalty area at AFC Bournemouth earned a nomination for the Budweiser Goal of the Month.
