Bowen should get top award

Bowen – Player of the Month?

Well even though Gareth Southgate did not pick him for the England squad, Jarrod Bowen still has cause to be a happy man as he just been shortlisted for the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month award for August.

The ex-Hull City man has been on fire recently , already two goals to the good this season.

Our lofty place in the Premier League table is a testament to the Irons as a team and some excellent individual performances.

Bowen’s contribution has included a 25 yard pile driver against the Cherries in our first game and the most exquisite bit of skill scoring against London rivals Chelsea.

Not withstanding that, he has shown what a team player he is by being responsible for three assists as well.

He has some competition though with the likes Taiwo Awoniyi of Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur’s James Maddison, Bryan Mbuemo of Brentford, Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma and Manchester City’s Rodri all nominated for the award.

The winner will be announced on Friday 15 September and let’s hope it is our own Jarrod Bowen !
