Jarrod Bowen has played himself into contention to start England’s final UEFA Euro group C game against Slovenia.
This assumes Gareth Southgate’s boys get the job done against Denmark on Thursday evening, thus sealing their progress to the knockout stages of the competition.
West Ham star Bowen demonstrated during England’s win against Serbia that not only could he be trusted, but he could also thrive in tournament football.
Therefore, a win against Denmark could mean that Southgate rotates his squad for the final group game, putting Bowen firmly in the mix.
Some of the reaction to the Hammer’s winger’s introduction on the 75th minute of Sunday’s game was embarrassing. However, Bowen answered his critics in the best way possible and must now be a serious contender for Southgate’s first off-the-bench role.
I must have missed these embarrassing reactions when watching the match from Down Under. So, Gonzo, could you please tell me what exactly happened?
Furthermore, the only embarrassing display I saw was the England performance in general. Several of Southgate’s regular ‘old guard’ were just not at the races, so to speak! Time to actually play some more of the newer players, like Col Palmer for example.
