Following the final whistle controversy in the Wolves v West Ham game of Monday night last, matters have escalated badly for Wolves’ combatant Mario Lemina, who has been stripped of the captaincy. This came after his coming together with West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen – the mutual shirt pulling and Judo-style’ throwing to the ground’ was broadcast live on Sky.

Hammers’ skipper Bowen went to shake hands following the 2-1 victory but Lemina was in no mood for sportsmanship and a scuffle developed between the two, who both went sprawling and were in receipt of yellow cards from the referee.

Reported in Birmingham World, :”Lemina no doubt has the passion to carry out captain duties but he let his emotions get the better of him after the 2-1 defeat at West Ham United. O’Neil hasn’t confirmed that to be the reason behind the change, but it’s likely to have had an influence.”

Jarrod Bowen of course remains in post at London Stadium with his credibility actually enhanced after the Wolves skipper attempted to snub him by ignoring the sportsmanship gesture. Wolves manager O’Neil has now appointed Nelson Semedo as skipper in what could be his last game in charge against Ipswich Town at the weekend.

Lemina’s actions deserved a booking,tv replays clearly shows he refused to shake hands with Bowen so on top of being a bad sport he is also a liar, great captain attributes. Bowen leads by example on the field,he never gives up,he is a team player and works his socks off, saying that I don’t think he needs the added responsibility of captaincy. To be honest I was more surprised by Tobido’s actions,he spent more time with his arm around Lemina than the effort he put in on the pitch,it was embarrassing.

Bowen clearly starts the trouble by pulling lemina’s shirt and wrestling him to the ground all because lemina didnt shake hands.

Lemina maintains he did shake hands with Bowen even after it was filmed and showed he clearly did not shake hands when Bowen offered his hand. Does he not realise millions watched it live on tv too? As well as not being a good sportsman he’s also a liar.
