West Ham manager Slaven Bilic, coach Julian Dicks and skipper captain Noble led a West Ham contingent of club personnel attending the funeral of former Hammer Peter Brabrook earlier today. A number of former Hammers who knew Peter including Ron Boyce, Ken Brown, Eddie Bovington, Brian Dear, Alan Dickie, Eddie Presland, Alan Stephenson, Clyde Best, John Ayris, Peter Grotier, Steve Potts, Steve Jones, Ken Brown Junior, Adam Newton, Terrell Forbes, Bertie Brayley, Tony Carr and Sir Trevor Brooking also attended the packed service.
The funeral procession including his horse drawn carriage with claret and blue flowers (pictured below) left from a house in South Ockendon at 9.30am for the service at the Holy Cross church in Hornchurch. Former West Ham player and manager Harry Redknapp was asked to say a few words at the service including the story how Peter was the person sent to the airport to pick up Slaven Bilic when he first signed for the club.
Former West Ham youth team products including Joe Cole and Anton Ferdinand were also present to show their respects of nearly 500 mourners who attended.
The mourners later moved on to Upminster cemetery followed by a wake at Thurrock football club.
