Brady: 50,000 on season ticket waiting list

skyWest Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady has spoken to Sky Sports Patrick Davison about the London Stadium ahead of the Hammers’ first premier league encounter  at Stratford and revealed there are now 50,000 people on the waiting list for season tickets.

“It was very important to bring our past with us to our future, and you can see it all around the stadium,” Brady said. “The look and feel around being West Ham was the number one priority. We didn’t want to be in a vanilla stadium that wouldn’t reflect our values. We promised supporters that we would deliver a stadium that would exceed their expectations in look and in feel, and I think we have done that. There were many points in the last six years where lots of people didn’t think it was going to happen – and one of them was me. This stadium could have been run-down, under-utilised like other Olympic venues across the world, but instead it is vibrant, multi-purposed, it has helped to regenerate this area and generated hundreds and hundreds of jobs. 50,000 people are on the waiting list for tickets – we always knew we could fill it.”

  1. Karren Brady wants a stadium “that would exceed their expectations in look and in feel”….= “and in feel” – to me that means atmosphere; the atmosphere of home. We all do. That mainly comes from the standing fans chanting and creating the songs (often funny).
As such, the club MUST try to achieve standing areas – where ‘standers’ can ticket swap with those who want out. They must negotiate with the owners to make it happen, sacrificing ticket sales if necessary. I called my email “Accomodate, not alienate”. If not, I think our “New Boleyn” will become a library like Arsenal…Who wants that? NO-ONE!

  2. Address for emails: foundersfeedback@westhamunited.co.uk….
Meanwhile, 50k on the waiting list???????????????????????????????? OMG! This is a revolution! Let’s find a 100k stadium that we own, with a 100 foot staue of Billy Bonds, and an end named after him!! ….
    In your dreams, Fishy!….
(Incidentally, on a personal note: in that war my father discovered “There are only 2 things that smell like old fish, and 1 of them is old fish…. ” ….and now me! Ugly, fat, rancid…and that’s just my writing, eh lads?…Now where’s my Pampers?….Oh dear….Oh dear… QUICK!)

    • If you have nothing sensible to say how about shutting it just for once please Fish.

      • So you don’t see standing as an issue, Ed?

        • Oh pls don’t feed me that drivel. You know exactly what I was on about. This second comment.I dont know maybe you think you are amusing, maybe you like to be noticed but it doesn’t impress me one iota.I come on here to read articles & comments but not your continual BS.

    • I think you probably spend too much time on your vinegar stroke Fishy, you definitely have some unresolved anger issues.

    • Any chance you could re-post that in English? Thanks.

      • Haha,i was thinking along the same lines when I read it BB.The perils of methamphetamine addiction highlighted by Fishy 😀

  3. We had enough time to look at this standing situation well before the move, is the final decision the club’s? or the owners of the stadium itself, the number who seem to want to stand is not going to be easy now to just do exchanges, it would be like starting all over again which seems impossible.

Was the standing matter ever raised before tickets went on sale?

It really worries me the bitterness there now is, on a certain forum the standers are not worried about how many the stadium holds now as long as they stand, I can’t see either side giving in.

Just hope there are some cool heads tomorrow, lets not spoil our first premier league match as the new stadium, Please!

    • It definitely seems to be simmering doesn’t it Jaybs, perhaps Hugh can find out if the standing issue was ever raised ? I remember all the talk before the London Olympics was about the retractable seating and the overall design, I think our chairmen and chairwoman wanted to redesign the stadium but were told there wasn’t enough time by the LLDC or something along those lines but whether safe standing was included in that who knows ?

  4. Fishy or whatever your name was before being barred from WHTID. Why don’t you just come clean and go for us old guard directly there’s no need to play games! I promise my ego won’t be bruised or I won’t get angry in the hair salon with Rads,Rick and Eddie as you put it. You crave the spotlight now’s your time to shine.

    • I know very little about any problems but if ever I have seen someone whos sole purpose is to cause trouble it is him.I thought it strange how he went for people from day one almost as if he knew them already.Nothing since then has changed my opinion. No one turns up on a strange site to them & starts abusing users from the off without prior knowledge. What a creep.

  5. You are wind up merchants too…You refuse to accept that you have had a go at me, and I’m perfectly capable of holding my own against to the lot of you; you take me on on he keyboard and it’ll come back at you…
That is NOT however my mission in life, believe it or not, especially not fellow WHU supporters. I don’t give a flying f*ck about other websites (although I’m glad they exist – If I would have a 2nd website it would be KUMB anyway, because it has a great interview with BB) – Why don’t you have a go at KUMB, or any of the others? I don’t get it, and I don’t particularly care to. I’m just sick of reading comments about them here; go to that effing website and do it there. Apart from that, I’m going to try to avoid you guys on here, as, believe it or not, I’m actaully about peace! Over and out!

    • You really do talk a lot of rubbish.I have been here a month or two.Had no problems with any of the lads on here. They have been friendly & welcoming so dont go blaming other people on your big mouth & agendas to cause arguments. You really are a spineless keyboard warrior.

    • Hold on a second Fishy, don’t be rushing off! From what I’ve read it’s been you calling out the ones that have been posting on here for a lot longer than yourself from day one. It’s you that jumps on others comments and spouts some bull**** about fish, your lack of humour or some other random ********, it’s been you that talks constantly about inter site rivalry and it’s been yourself that’s had a motive from day 1. I’d have more respect for you if you stopped playing this pathetic I don’t go on any any other sites ******** and use the original name you had when you posted elsewhere.

      • Ignore the man,he only wants to get a response. We can all see his motives even as lads who ain’t involved in his circus.Dont feed him & he will naff off.I would like to see him on the building site with me,he would be crying within 5 minutes because he was a poor innocent angel being picked on.Why are there no moderators on here who can put an end to his games. He is really getting on my bristols.

        • So this chaps is his idea of being a wounded party when I came here this morning.Someone chats about Ibrahimovich & the leaves a sarcastic reply mentioning wetlands when the originally comment had nothing to do with WHTID.But he isn’t looking for a row is he.

I can’t be bothered with this bolloxs. So I will move on.I said to my mate that Ibra would easily score 20 goals for Manure this season,he is still a class act. With him taking penalities as well he will walk it.All this turd about him only scoring because he was playing in the French league was balls,he is just a class act whether you like him or not.

Phew. Thank God we’ve sorted THAT one out; Whether Ibra was going to score 20 or not was a burning issue. Meanwhile those pr@ts at Westlands, who don’t know what they are talking about, say he’ll score 50? None?? Only guessing….

Now someone please tell me how that’s not being a poo stirrer!!

  6. Got an idea who Fishy is chaps and he’s arrived to repair his bruised ego after being toppled from his perch elsewhere.

  7. Haha,i thought Fish was put back in his cage in the cellar with his gimp mask on during daylight hours.I must have been wrong 😀
