Brady awards herself a 10K pay rise

|

BaronessWest Ham Vice Chairman, Karren Brady awarded herself a £10,000 pay rise last year.

The increase has been revealed in West Ham financial accounts which were released earlier today.

The accounts show that the ‘highest paid director’ at West Ham, understood to be Baroness Brady, awarded herself the 1.6% increase which means her salary package was increased from £636,000 to £646,000 per annum in the financial year ending 31st May 2015. The rise is worth around £100 extra per week to her after tax.

The news comes a week after the House of Lords Tory peer backed the call for cuts in tax credits during a defeated vote. She earns £300 per day each time she turns up at the House of Lords in that role.

Baroness Karren Brady of Knightsbridge CBE is also a Senior Non-Executive Director on the boards of Syco Entertainment and retail multinational Arcadia Group.

She is also the UK government’s Small Business Ambassador. She stars in the BBC Apprentice along fellow House of Lords peer Lord Sugar and is believed to worth in excess of £82 million.

While i would not vote for her or her party , she has to be applauded for her vital work carried out on the clubs behalf in playing a major role in securing the O.S as our new home .£10 k a year ? Peanuts compared to the wages of players and managers these days .

This woman is living the dream, something most of us fantasise about when we do the Euro’s every Friday

Must be highest paid part-timer in the country.

    • WHU647580 says:

You have absolutely no idea how many hours she puts in at the club. Just because she has various roles/jobs in her life doesn’t mean she’s part time at WHU, probably far from it.

  • PHammer, I can see why you might you think the story is politically motivated but that is not the case. In fact I am car carrying member of the same party.

I think Karren is a great business women and we are lucky to have her at West Ham but politics and football so not mix. I would prefer she left her political ambitions on hold until she left West Ham or there can be conflicts of interest.

As for the pay rise £10k is such a small rise for her I would have stayed the same with no rise rather than bring attention to the increase in the accounts.

You can’t be slave to two masters

Lovely expose of a piece of **** in a red rag.
Clearly one not a EastEnders and another who sounds like likes to have one off the cuff over a **** that used to **** her centre forward in between testing the Dave’s bigus ***** rotating ******* , fits in perfectly with the bunch of ****** she aligned herself to, says a lot for her as a person who would deprive children a decent meal or a warm house who although work for a living for low wages i- e zero hour contracts voted to kick in the nuts while the elite look after themselves stealing expenses and awarding themselves a pay rise.
I personally would to – from a great height !!!!!!
She actually lowers the standing of west ham supporters , she does not fit in , but she certainly fits in with the filth of this country,
What was it Boris said to the cabbie , ****** and die, sounds good to me,
So ****** to each and everyone of you Brady lovers,

It’s fair to say that the type of comments you’ve made do a pretty good job of lowering the standing of West Ham supporters. I’m not a Brady lover, far from it. I don’t mind a bit of proper banter, but some of the misogynistic tripe I see written about Brady here beggars belief.

The one sensible thing you said is that I’m not an Eastender. But most of my immediate family grew up on Wakefield Street, my grandfather went to the Boleyn for 60 years and I used to be a season ticket holder myself in the Chicken Run. I think that earns me an opinion. Even one you don’t agree with.

I’m sure you’re delighted with the money the Board you speak so wonderfully of have put the funds up to turn this club around.

What a woman. Deserves every penny of anything she earns. For the work she has done for the benefit of West Ham and the community we’re not paying her enough.

  • The chairman take no wages from West Ham and their combined net worth is over one billion pounds

    • PennsylvaniaHammer says:

Sean, this article has very evident political lean. There can be no other excuse for reporting a 1.6% wage increase for an employee of the club, albeit a high profile one. This is a non-story being used as an excuse to draw attention to her recent voting record and wealth.

I realize that this excellent site reports a broad spectrum of WHU news, and some of the financial and administrative info is relevant and often very interesting. But this is borderline irrelevant. That said, I pay nothing for viewing this site and nobody makes me read it. So take my comments as constructive feedback rather than a complaint.

  • PennsylvaniaHammer says:

Be interesting to see if there is a similar report on the owners’ wages, net worth and other income.

  • The Demon says:

Nicely biased Sean – I’m not sure she awarded herself anything, that must have been down to the Chairmen/Owners, surely?

Anyway, good luck to her – with the cash she’s saved on the new stadium, I don’t begrudge her a pay rise of 1.6%. And I still would….
