In an interview in The Sun today, Karren Brady’s assertion that West Ham United fans contributed to David Moyes’ departure is a contentious statement. While it’s undeniable that fan pressure can influence club decisions, it’s equally important to acknowledge the complexities involved in managerial changes.
Moyes undoubtedly enjoyed periods of success at West Ham, culminating in the club’s first major trophy in over 50 years. However, inconsistent performances and a decline in results towards the end of his tenure eroded fan confidence.
It’s crucial to recognise that fan expectations evolve as clubs invest in their squads and strive for higher achievements. The desire for progress and improvement is a natural part of the football ecosystem. While fans have a right to express their opinions, blaming them entirely for Moyes’ departure oversimplifies the situation.
Ultimately, the decision to replace a manager is a complex one, influenced by various factors including on-field performance, financial considerations, and the club’s long-term vision. While fan sentiment can play a role, it’s essential to consider the broader context when evaluating the reasons behind managerial changes.
The Baroness does not endear hearself to the West Ham faithful with these sort of comments. She really should know better!
I don’t think she blamed the fans entirely. She said it had reached its course and change was best. We have to accept that the fans did indeed play a part in his departure.
I’m looking forward to the day Brady leaves the club as well
I think that Karen Brady and her boardroom colleagues really need to look no further than their own inability to recognise what was in front of them.
It was apparent to many West Ham fans that David Moyes was kept on as manager well past His sell by date.He should have left the club during the World Cup break. He was tactically naive, and made many poor decisions in the transfer market when he did eventually decide to buy a player. He played many players out of position to both their and the team’s detriment. We would still be in Europe if Moyes had left much earlier and Tim Steiden had been given a free hand as he has now. COYI
We were on record points totall at Christmas . Some West Ham fans talk nonsense sometimes. Club didn’t back Moyes in Jan and injuries and die was cast on Moyes
Sorry mate…have to disagree. Moyes was offered players in Jan but rejected them because, I suspect , of his difficulties with not being his choice. When he did choose he got rid after 1 season because he couldn’t manipulate them to his style of play.
Costing club millions !!
Also, in his own admittance, he liked a small squad.
Totally agree mate
Exactly, she actually didn’t and I do not like her but making stuff up is desperate.
Why is she still here? P… off Brady.
People forget the African Nations Cup mid season Moyes lost his key striker in Kudus who at the time was on fire,
When you start blaming a manager for poor results and not bringing in this player or ones that you want to see, just remember there is a chain of command at any club, David Moyes is a Clhb Builder, by pushing him out you just might come to regret a period of instability and one thing is fir sure the first people who will walk away will be Steidman and your new manager cause he has history at other clubs, couple of weeks ago I read fans remarks Moyes could not see the good in Cornet, 3 weeks later these same fans are saying get rid of cornet he is useless !!!!
So perhaps Moyes is not such a bad manager as you are making him out to be.
Let’s see what happens after a poor run leaves you bottom of the table, see if the west ham way gets you out of the ****, sick of these west ham fans constantly whinging, when real fans could see the good moyes was doing for the club
It’s been a long time without a major trophy but wasn’t over 50 years!
43 to be exact
I think that Moyes and Brady need to look at a largely unsuccessful transfer splurge before the 2022 / 2023 season – in many ways similar to Slaven’s largely unsuccessful transfer splurge at the beginning of his second season that led to his being fired the following season – now we all need to move on
Wasn’t she looking for a new manager after December? Isn’t that why Steidten was banned from the dressing room? She’s so full of s**t
Things have their time and when they do eras come to an end. It was time to move on. New start today is all I’m interested in. Fortune favours the bold and we’re well stocked up on bold at the moment.
Let’s all be honest here. If the fans had not kicked up the board would most likely have given Moyes a new deal. But the fact that many of the fan base did make there feelings clear in my mind swayed the board. Moyes will in my mind always be remembered and appreciated so he is wrong there
Fortunately wiser counsels, who could see what was really going on, prevailed. The idea to bring in TS came LAST JULY, after some very costly recruitment errors. This was a move made by someone else on the board who saw what was needed and knew what to do. It was welcomed by the fans, but that doesn’t mean they caused it.
Who is TS, Brady’s a bloke, who would have guessed
Brady spends half her time working for Sugar. I think she knows where all Sullivan’s skeletons are hidden.
The miserable clown Moyes got away with murder at the club with his negative tactics and destruction of the squad so why is Brady defending him, weird or what
In that case, well done to us fans!
If West Ham fans had any influence, Brady herself would have gone many years ago. She really has no redeeming qualities, does she?
Sullivan and Brady should sell up and get out of west ham !!! They have held us back and so did Dino Dave ! I’m sick off hearing his name let’s celebrate the new west ham and stop talking about the past
is this true? why would someone, seemingly intelligent make such a stupid pointless statement unless it wasn’t really what it was made not to be. it’s just beyond foolish, more idiotic. unless she intends to alienate herself and the board from the people who matter most, the fans.
Come on Jules & lads look forward not back COYI ⚒
I’m surprised she didn’t state that us west ham fans should be careful what we wish for! Just like all off the other ignorant pundits on talksport etc Us fans have done west ham a favor if we made moyes leave.Look at the transformation since he’s left? And if he’s such a great manager why is he unemployed now?
Moyes is on record as saying that he had been offered an extension to his contract (albeit with T’s & Ç’s).
So is Baroness of Knightsbridge inferring that we the fan base influenced the board into retracting that offer? Seems very unlikely to me.
Mate get this woman out of our club!!! Useless waste of space!!
⚒️
People who have the temerity to criticise Brady belong in a Secure Unit. The deal she alone got on the stadium is the envy of all in the league.
Moyes had his time as did dinosaurs once.
Let’s hope we adapt to the new system
I thank her for the compliement.
Although Moyes will always be remembered as the mananager who brought us a trophy in the modern era, always thought he never had a plan b for certain games and was wanting. J-Lo could be a good step in the right direction, confident probably after 10games!
Without exact quotes and context this article is really just click bait. Fans having some say, and the board reacting is hardly negative. In the end the squad needed a lot of rework. The board did not trust Moyes with the money and the fans (even those who generally liked Moyes) would probably have agreed. Personally we have a lot to thank Moyes for but football is changing fast and Moyes never showed much interest in reacting to those changes. The need to change was obvious.
When opening this article I thought there might be a few responses 😂
Should we go on a trophy winning streak now I suppose us fans will have to mop up the credit, poor us🥳
Call yourselves a West Ham site & then don’t even know when we last won the FA Cup?
Please just give it up & get a proper job!!!!
Here is the article.

Karen Brady knows nothing about being a football fan she does however know about business and making money even if it means running assets into the ground absolutely us fans wanted Morbid Moyes out and we also want Brady out she has no connection with the fans or football only making money go invest in something else and keep your opinions to yourself
Look where we were. She’s done a fine job. Same as sullivan and the gold family. Weve even won a cup remember?
I read her article in the sun and your wrong yet again. What she said was he felt underapreiciated by the fans. Who can blame him.? At no point did she blame the fans. Your just saying that for shock value. In my opinion your now deadwood. Same old rubbish
