Karren Brady has dropped a hefty hint about hers – and maybe the board’s feelings – on the long absence from action of Andy Carroll.
She aimed a thinly veiled dig at the striker by claiming he would be “Superman” if he followed the same rehab regime as West Brom’s Chris Brunt.
The Baggies midfielder has spent a month in total standing on one leg during his recovery from a knee cruciate injury.
And Brady wrote in her Sun column: “It makes me tired just seeing a graphic of the West Brom midfielder’s get-fit regime during his eight months with the physios.
“Brunt, 31, completed the equivalent of ten triathlons, lifted 40 elephants and can now jump seven per cent higher.
“With his record of absences, West Ham striker Andy Carroll must be Superman-plus.”

I know that Wednesday night, Super Andy will fly over the London Stadium wearing a claret and blue cape and pantyhose… a little homage to his large fan club very concerned about his health.. lool 😀

On West Ham’s holiday chart, they mark Carroll’s days in.
Time to call it quits with AC I think. I have been a big supporter of his and think on his day he can be a real asset but you just can’t have 80k a week injured for 75% of the season. Last year we were able to paper over the cracks but when the team is struggling you can’t carry anyone and he has become a liability. 2 years left on his contract at the end of the season – i can’t see anyone coming in for him so I think we should give him a settlement to move on.
As Billic is determined to play 1 up top I think you can get away with a strike force of 4. Zaza tries hard but simply isn’t good enough so we should send him back, Calleri will return also., hopefully someone will take Valencia. Problem we have is that we still have quite a few journeymen in this squad! That leaves us with Sakho, Ayew and Fletcher. If Sakho can prove himself again I would chuck some money at him and a longer contract and then in the summer go and sign a speed demon. No talk about 20-25m just go and get someone who can play in behind and do a job.

Alfie: Been having the same laugh for about 7 days. It’s now boring. We are here to talk about football…not how this site conducts itself. The FB forum is run as a non swearing/abuse free area and has 2k members. Barely a problem and everyone understands the boundaries. Moderators have had to come in here because the level of abuse etc at times was way too high and my briefs told me there were libelous statements. This is not a FORUM as such – that’s at FB. I’m right behind KB on the Carroll saga. It used to be funny but it’s gone well beyond that now. No value for money so time to move on and look beyond china doll. And Alfie is spot on too. I made the same point to Hugh yesterday and was quickly shot down. In Hugh’s defence, I wonder if he is being put under pressure from elsewhere?
Not sure we would have run a petition against tickt line costs if we were in DS or the club’s control. for the record I think they should get rid f they can. Always have done. Not my type of player.
Just to echo Hugh’s comments, we are both in agreement. The comments section is for comments or feedback on the stories above rather then a hammers general forum. There are many general West Ham forums around including our own on Facebook. Many of the online website and forums have moderators and we are no different. We reserve the right to delete comments not related to the story in question.
Fair enough so my opinion is that AC is a total waste of money, time, investment and will always be a player that flatters to deceive and Brady should question his attitude and aptitude more often 🙂

It’s more than just the waste of money although that’s a big thing – it’s more that the Team have to adapt to his strengths and go long and try to hit him in the air. I don’t want to be too precious but this is just not the ‘West Ham Way’ – the punters like to see the ball played on the ground and was one of the main things we didn’t like about BFS style of play.
Another prob Mike is tht we have to change the entire set up when he returns which takes 2-3 games to bed in before he gets injured again
Hugh and Sean, you’re right, this is a football site, I admit that we are often OT (lol), but that’s the beauty of this site: you can talk about football in a kidding manner, without considering ourselves managers or gurus. Every day I see useless and pompous comments on other sites, frankly they bores me… laughing and joking, I read a lot of interesting things here and I think that if C&H is getting one the most visited West Ham sites, one of the main reasons is the cheerful attitude of the users… I hope that doesn’t change, we’re just talking about football and a good laugh never hurt anyone… this is my humble opinion. 😉
