Brady plan looks a non starter

|

Karren Brady wants to broker a deal with main club sponsors Betway which would see the gambling firm removed from the club’s shirts and maybe on to the London Stadium roof as part of a naming rights deal.

A Mail on Sunday article claims Brady has been talking openly about her desire to get a naming rights deal in place for years, and industry sources have told the Mail that a reconfigured Betway package is attractive to her. But the process may not be smooth.

The claims have two flaws which are likely to make such a plan completely impractical according to NowNews West Ham – Six Foot Two (6foot2.co.uk).

First, the London Stadium roof is about to be covered in a solar membrane which will generate power and it would be doubtful if a large sponsor name would be compatible whilst secondly, the public body which owns the stadium is unlikely to sign off on a gambling sponsor with government tightening laws on betting.
