Finally, something concrete to be very excited about as a Hammers fan this transfer window.
Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth is reporting a deal agreed with Leeds United to sign Crysencio Summerville.
According to Sheth, the player is undergoing a medical in the next 24 hours and will then be jetting out to join the squad and manager Julen Lopetegui for the latter stages of warm-weather pre-season training in Florida:
In addition, ITK journalist Fabrizio Romano had already reported earlier on his ‘X’ account that: “The 22-year-old winger has “said yes” to the contract and the project the Hammers have presented him”. So no problems with the player , who it seems is already buying into West Ham United.
No reason not to accept this as 100% accurate, we will be seeking full details but maybe time to celebrate a Hammers ‘recruitment team’ success coming from nowhere in the last 24 hours. Great guy that Tim Steidten, never in doubt.
I will wait until the ink is on the contract but a really mouth-watering prospect as a superb addition to the West Ham United squad. COYI!
love the way C&H didn’t see this coming at all, still banging on copying all the other rumor sites, and picking holes on our transfer policy, just goes to show they are clueless and have zero edge! Always said, lets judge Tim and co when the window shuts and not hit the panic button.
Anyway C&H tell us a zaha story its been a while!!
Hi Dave, I know it suits your narrative to state we didn’t see this coming at all, but I might not agree:

oh and this one from 25 July:

Simon both times getting the info on our pursuit.
Really pleased IF we get this lad signed. Looks class. And a proper left winger. I know it was reported last week that we were interested but good to see that it looks like we have kept it reasonably quiet and got it done. Goes straight into the side I reckon.
Pongo, Deathblow? where are you? Sully is after your “thank you”s
Leeds fans have nothing but good things to say about this lad. Apparently killed it last season and was the standout choice for their player of the season with consistent displays.
Not sure how he fits in with Mo, Jarrod and Lucas but definitely a quality signing.
He fits in perfectly! He is a right footed left winger (a mirror of Kudus and Bowen). Paqueta plays best centrally, either middle or attacking middle. Bowen and Kudus are probably the most difficult to “fit” as they have the same preferred position (but that’s absolutely not a complaint!!)
Bowen up front for the season again then 😂⚒️
Really exciting prospect. Fingers crossed this deal gets over the line. Summerville, Kudus, Bowen. If we can just get a decent striker in that’ll be the final piece of the attacking jigsaw. What a front line!
Super excited right now if this is true. Great stats last season. Let’s see tho as john said only get excited when in claret and blue
This one developed quickly. Lets see the photo in claret and blue before turning Summervilles, I mean somersaults…
LOL 😅
Didn’t we just buy a very similar player in Guillerme? There goes any minutes that George Earthy thought he was getting this season…
Guilherme is a left-footed right winger so will probably be deputy to Bowen whereas Summerville is a right-footed left winger which finally fills the void left on that flank by Benrahma and Fornals back in January
I agree mate but neither Fornals or Benrahma were left wingers in truth, Moyes just played them there because we didn’t have one.
Yeah but he’s really young and will take time to acclimate from Brazil I’d say. Can play anywhere behind striker
If it takes him more than a few months to acclimatize, he wasn’t worth 25m. And certainly not worth spending another 25m just to give him time to adapt. If we hadn’t signed Guillerme, this would be a great pickup. But now we’ve got more wingers than we really need and it’ll be Earthy who probably suffers. Can’t celebrate this signing and then bemoan the lack of bringing academy players along.
Time to get past the idea that football is an 11 against 11 game these days and that if you are not in the starting 11 you don’t have value. Isn’t that one of the biggest crimes people accused Moyes of was never having a plan with the players on the bench? Might also be worth mentioning that West Ham seem to dealing with the need for home grown players in the squad. At least we might have some rotation on the bench this year to break up those drab no chances being created performances in the last half hour.
👍🏼 There’s no Thumbs Up button for comments on this Forum. 😜
It’s true that “succeed” in the League or a Cup competition you need a full squad of players so the manager can perm any team from 22 (?) players with the minimum of being able to rotate players without a drop in standard.
When we were in talks to sign Guilherme, I saw an interview with Tim Vickery who is apparently an expert on South American football. He stated categorically that Guilherme is one for the future and is not ready yet for the Premier League. So if he does feature this season, then it will be a bonus. But he’s a player with huge potential. So fingers crossed he’ll develop well. We won’t know until the end of the window whether or not him signing stopped us making other signings but it doesn’t look like it.
I hope this is true could be another Bowen pure class
This is a superb signing just the type of young improving player we need to sign! Now go and get Duran to bang in the goals !!!
