The incredible cost of Wan Bissaka’s Manchester United pay-off has been exclusively revealed to Claret & Hugh within the last hour.

West Ham have been in transfer negotiations with the right-back for over a month now, and there has been a sticking point regarding a loyalty payment due to the player.

Wan Bissaka has not asked to leave Old Trafford and is therefore willing to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season, which would be a lucrative move for the player.

Recent reports had suggested the defender was holding out for a three-million-pound pay-off from Man United before he would leave to join another club.

However, Claret & Hugh has spoken to a top West Ham United source within the last hour and can confirm the pay-off amount is considerably higher. The Hammers insider revealed that Wan Bissaka is actually asking for an incredible £7 million just to leave Old Trafford.

Speaking to C&H this morning, our source revealed, “Wan Bissaka wants a £7m pay off from United because he’s a Bosman in a year, that’s the problem”.

These details go some way to explaining why negotiations with the Red Devils have been so difficult. Understandably, Manchester United have no desire to pay a departing player a loyalty bonus, and West Ham are also in no position to pay such a hefty fee on top of the transfer figure.

    Totally the fault of ManU.

Why should he lose out just because they want to get rid of him?
Yes, it’s a mercenary stance, as with the moron ‘defender’ we wanted last year, but if the club make these deals, and they owe what’s in the contract, then cough up and learn from previous errors.

Not sure I want this guy, he scares me as I don’t think he’s improved at all and we need tough defenders like Dawson who will command their area. Who else wants him? Not a top club. that should be a warning to us.

  • Jimmy says:

    WALK!!

    • elduder says:

      we already walked days ago

lop has already spoken with the kid from girona, martinez, who is keep

reports of first bid submitted, release clause is €20m – i suspect around €12m will secure him

previous bid from milan €5m and barcelona have him as 3rd/4th potential target rumoured to be considering a €10m bid should they fail to get there other targets

will be under 21 this season so no need to register, doesn’t take a squad place!!

  • CB says:

He wants the money they are legally contractually bound to pay him. same as mcguire last year

    • Matt says:

Not how I read this. It suggested he is owed £3m contractually but wants £7m because he can stay and leave on a free next year. He is trying to strong arm Man Utd to get the advantage of the Bosman but the certainty of the new club too. Can’t blame him for trying but doesn’t suggest he cares about first team football particularly. Big warning sign for me

      • Terence says:

If true.. My sentiments entirely. Avoid anyone in life who are money obsessed they will give you problems in the future.

This applies not just to football players I have seen this in business and employing people. They will want to rinse you and want give two hoots about you.

  • Vernish says:

Why do Man Utd keep doing these things. Such a pain. He’d be good for us, but let’s move on quickly. Too much time wasted on this stalemate.

  • Ian says:

So IF ManU want him off the books now, rather than losing him for free next summer, and he’s contractually entitled to this payment, as he has not asked for a move, how is it understandable that ManU don’t want to pay it?
Sell him now, recoup for eg £15m, pay him his loyalty bonus of £7m (IF true), and bank £8m. OR continue to pay him his £90k per week until next summer and get zero in return when he walks.

  • Jh says:

Source exclusive…or did you just watch the video from the hammers way on YouTube that revealed this yesterday

  • Steve says:

if Man U want him sold, they should pay it. If not just walk away. Exactly the same as Harry last year
Yes he’s a quality RB, but stop wasting time and move on

  • 60sSupporter says:

I think he’s best avoided. Not the best attitude, probably zero loyalty, and who’s to say we’ll get much out of him.

    • Ian says:

I don’t know anything about his attitude. But it seems as though it’s ManU wanting to sell him and not him trying to leave. So if anything he’s showing more loyalty than them surely?
Signing any player is a risk. He’s no different

    • Tony Rosier says:

And have United been loyal to him ? He hasn’t asked to leave ! He hasn’t criticized the manager or the club, he’s not moaned about not starting or where he’s been playing. Loyalty goes both ways, how do you think he feels about being hawked around for sale when he’s never asked to leave ? And being replaced by a inferior player possibly !

  • Mavded says:

Only thing i wonder about all this is how and why has it taken this long to come to light…Surely those who looked into buying the player would of known about this from the get go and that makes it a non starter from early days so why keep dragging it out? KWP would be the cheaper deal and a better fit for how Jlo wants to play.

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Move on to the guy from Girona,

Can sign AWB next year for free.

Like Todibo this is just wasting time.

  • Matt says:

Swerve him!! Let Man Utd clean up their own shiz show and let AWB be their headache.

Stop wasting the remainder of the transfer window and go for KWP or the Girona young player. Would’ve thought J-Lo knows more about the Spanish lad than we do. If he wants him get it done like we did for Kilman.

  • Allan says:

Forget him. If he’s going to ask for stupid amounts like that it shows he’s not loyal to us or them, only to himself. Get another right back elsewhere who is loyal.

  • HammerDan says:

    Let’s move on quickly.
Let’s find the next talented right back, not one who’s only interested in a big pay day!!

  • Essexirons says:

MU are their own worst enemy, pay up the contractual clause or lose him next season for sfa.
Dragged on for far too long & we must be missing out on other deals because of this. Give MU a deadline & walk away if not met.
Would be a good signing, but not worth wasting our time on. Need another RB & CB brought in asap, time is ticking for players to come in before the season starts.

To keep the natives happy, we ideally need to have a good start. Having basically the same sh1tty defence as last season is not an option.

Zouma & Coufal simply aren’t good enough for the PL anymore. Coufal at best, is a break glass in case of emergency squad player

  • Ian says:

Stop wasting time dealing for their players. Move on quick for RCB and RB asap now

  • Jay says:

AWB is a very good defender, but lacks quality as an attacking full back. Certainly not worth all the effort we have put into signing him. It’s been dragging on for weeks. There are other viable options for us, more rounded full backs. Let’s get someone in who can defend and provide assists for our attacking talent.

  • Jonno says:

Don’t bother with him, as we have learnt in the past, he is a money grabbing s@, no loyalty, and would do the same to us

  • Malcolm says:

Just walk away from the deal and revisit when he is on a free. Sounds like another Lingard. Plenty of other players out there

  • Kip says:

So why are we still on this ..MOVE ON FFS ..ITS BEEN WEEKS

  • Jeeps says:

Him and Maguire are like a couple of bookends.
WHU have the trait of spending to much time on players they become obsessed with (Lingard/Maguire).
Moyes spent a lot of time trying to sign him last year and finally Erik ten Hag pulled the plug
Time to walk and move onto Arnau Martinez who is more versatile and younger.

  • Adam says:

Just forget about this one, I only want players at the club who want to be there, his not even that good
