Surprise, surprise—West Ham’s bid for Niclas Füllkrug is faltering, and a move for Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran is back on.
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly holding firm at €30 million for Füllkrug, and the Hammers won’t budge past €25 million, according to the latest developments from Sky Germany. However, the German media are also now reporting that Villa is ready to drop their asking price for Duran to just €30 million all-in, which is, quite frankly, ridiculous.
Sky’s Patrick Berger (no, not that one) has labelled the Dortmund/West Ham negotiations a ‘game of poker,’ and the two clubs remain some distance apart.
At this stage, it is difficult to see what is going on, but my default position has always been that the Hammers would attempt to use Füllkrug as a diversionary misinformation tactic in an effort to get the Jhon Duran transfer deal done.
The big German striker is reported by Berger as being keen on a move to West Ham, which is in stark contrast to his Sky Germany colleague Plettenberg, who only two days ago suggested Füllkrug wanted to remain in Germany.
Confused? You should be.
I’d like them both at west ham as DURAN and our young players could learn amazing things as off FULKRUG and you cant buy what knowledge of playing top level football at tournaments that FŰLĹKRUG has ⚒⚒⚒
Nooooooooo please we need fulkrug he is soooooo good calm on ball teamwork hard work great finisher and best header plus really smart player just pay the 30 m for him in today’s market that is a good price
This is sooooooo boring now, it really is. This one, not that one, done deal, not a done deal, collapses, nearly there, not quite there, terms agreed….blar blar blar. How many players is that now we have signed, nearly signed, gonner sign!!!!
If WHU get Duran I think the celebrations will be short lived. He strikes me as one who might think he is bigger than the club (any club) once the honeymoon is over, maybe another Antony? I would pass on that one, or at least be very careful with the wording of his contract.
One thing mentioning is prices this window do seem to be lower. We were meant to offered 30 million for McTominay this time last year and now Fulham seem to be bidding around 20 million in this window. All of which sounds like less than great past decisions by ManU
I think we maybe seeing Tim in action.
Making smoke and throwing faux bids in as a distraction.
Using Jota & WP (Soton) and ploys to get AWB & Summerville?
So Fullkrug is keen to join West Ham immediately. He would be in the same salary as he is on at Dortmund, no more and would sign a three-year deal. So what are we waiting for? Well looks to me like we’ve offered Villa 25 million for Duran and dortmund 25 million for the Fulk and now were playing a waiting game and will take whoever backs down and accepts 25 million first. Dangerous game if you ask me and we could end up not getting either player. Or it’s a master stroke. One of the two.
Reading the sky news Germany article on Google translate I surmise that the Fulk wasn’t sure at first with West Ham not being a champions league team. But hes come to realise playing in the premier league could be good for him and help him carry on playing for German national team. He also consulted the German national team manager. Ben are holding out for 30 million euros. West Ham are offering 25. Seems to me a deal is there to be made for the sake of a few million difference.
Villa haven’t dropped the valuation of Duran so no idea where this none story is coming from. I know Duran’s leaving hence Villa trying to sign Lukaka but I’ve been told it’s not to WH, make of that what you will.
BTW I happen to think WH would be the perfect fit for Duran but the offers have come nowhere near (20m plus add-on to get to 35m) what Villa value him at, 40m. Sullivans the reason you’ll go into another season with a injury prone right back as your main CF.
Difficult to know which source to believe nowadays because they all say different things. I honestly didn’t want Duran. Strikes me as a mercenary with a bad attitude and only a matter of time before he wants out the door and throws his toys out the pram. I would rather we bought the incredible Fulk. A good honest bloke who has worked his way up through the leagues to be playing at the highest level, much like Bowen. These sort of players appreciate what they’ve got and never stop working to improve.
More guess work by people that know sweet Fanny Adams.
Let’s just wait shall we!
You shouldn’t read into the rumours that’s exactly what the media want you to do. Just wait & hope untill you see whoever in claret & blue with pen in hand. Coyi
I know, sweet fanny Adams she’s a great gal and definitely sweet, and she’s more reliable than our transfers, are.
How can you determine which is the best deal when we hardly know anything about the terms? In the big picture Duran may only be slightly more expensive. What happens if there is a buyout clause for Duran? What happens if Villa want a portion of any future sales fee? What happens if there are agents fees (which can be millions). Articles always quote the top line ‘guessed’ fee but reality is more complex. Even the payment terms can be important. A transfer that requires a big upfront installment can impact any other business we want to do in this window. Weighing up those factors is important.
Absolute nonsense being posted daily regarding deals.
The morality of agents and players epitomizes society in general.
I believe signings only when officially announced
C’mon West Ham hurry up and overpay for Duran.
We here at Villa want to lol.
I read that Tweet from the German fella. I think he’s had an absolute mare and got everything confused.
🤣🤣🤣ffs
If it takes another 4 million on either transfer then Duran is obvious choice no brainer
We keep losing deals for a difference of 5m (or less). Just fecking get one done and quit being David Sullivan puppet.
Please get the Duran deal done. It’s a great investment. Why pay €25 for the German striker, with no resale value. Need to start looking further into the future, not paying large sums for stop gaps. And as forDuran’s attitude. Does he have an attitude? : certainly, he wants to start games and play. Nothing overly wrong with that. Is his attitude problems wildly over exaggerated in the media: almost certainly. He made the crossed hammers sign while hoping for a move to our team. Quick. Bring out the firing squad. I believe he would tear it up at West Ham. But that’s just my opinion, man.
You want your striker to have that confident attitude, it’s a position that requires it. Fullkrug doesn’t make sense. He is an aerial guy, that means no AWB as Coufal is a stronger crosses. Also, you now are going to ask Kudus to bang crosses instead of cook, really? It is all out of place.
If it takes another 4 million on either transfer then Duran is obvious choice no brainer
If the Duran deal is back on just get it done with no rubbish like he cant play against Villa in first match…..otherwise look elsewhere and be quick about it please
It’s on,it’s off,it’s on again, what the hell is the truth here.Heard this so many times before even under Moyes. Our fans deserve a little more respect from so called reporters and the club.
Sounds like normal haggling to me, with clubs playing hardball more than usual as they know we need to bring in a number of players.
That was our fault, needing to bring so many in at one time should have been avoidable.
Fullkrug has less than two years on his contract and he’s 32 in February so you wouldn’t expect any exorbitantly high prices.
Duran, his attitude is a worry, not signing him might well be dodging a bullet.
Duran wants to come too west ham sounds like his attitudes fine to me
Have a look at John McGinn on Duran. On a TV interview made his and the Teams feelings clear in JDs attitude and commitment…Good luck
He’ll “want” to join another club the minute you drop out mate. I hear he’s already taking Geordie lessons
As long as someone takes him I’ll be happy
Been nothing but trouble and a bit of a pain in the arse to deal with apparently
But hey, keep trying for him
You WANT your striker to have that confidence that is fairly arrogant, that is a striker mentality, look at the current top strikers, all arrogant in some way or another. If you’re not that confident, you won’t last long.
I’d sign Duran, he’d flourish at Westham. He’s getting no game time at villa & I don’t think he’s got the best of relationship’s with Emery but that don’t mean he’s to be avoided. He makes a great target man & he’s got some talent maybe abit raw but definitely talented.
John Duran has all of the physical attributes required to be a really top player, pace power, a good finisher but he is allegedly really immature and his mentality is often questioned which will most likely stop him from reaching the very top, having said that if I was in West Ham’s position needing lots of players in a short space of time, (particularly a striker) then I would take a punt because there’s no doubting his talent, he’s young and eager to get game time, with a run in the side I’ve got no doubt he’ll score goals, it sounds like the perfect match to me. If he reaches his true potential his value will double in the future.
The only truth is that no one knows whats going on and that includes the ITKs.
Cant report the truth as it is hardly going to get the attention of fans and the much needed clicks that keep sites going. 🙂
So you don’t know for fact, but the clickbait headline says you do .this site….
LOL, gonzo just prints the first thing he thinks or sees!!
the deal has not collapsed, its not breaking news, only in his head!
ex-westhamemployee is a lot better reliable outlet than this, better to follow him (gonzo included!!)
Said they all don’t want to come to westham
Said neither one of them, especially since they agreed to terms, ya muppet.
This window is popcorn 🍿
I remember in the Green Mile .Mr Jingles is a circus mouse. We are in a similar position
