Reports that West Ham have reached an agreement with Aston Villa for Jhon Duran are NOT true.

C&H’s Sean Whetstone spoke to a top Hammers source this morning, who revealed the club’s position when asked directly about the move for the striker.

Despite weeks of transfer negotiations, the two sides cannot agree on a valuation, with West Ham unwilling to come close to the £35m requested.

The Irons want to offer a much lower fee with incentive-based add-ons based on performances, such as first-team starts and goals. The structure of the deal isn’t the same loan-to-buy offer presented to Nice for Jean-Clair Todibo but is spread to mitigate the risk, as mentioned here yesterday.

While Duran remains a top target for Tim Steidten, West Ham refuse to be held to ransom by their Premier League rivals and have many other alternative striker targets if an agreement cannot be reached.

We expect bids for other strikers to continue this week although Duran himself is thought to be be pushing for a move to The London Stadium.

Sullivan and part time Brady disaster

Need to take down all references to players valued over £20m.
It becomes laborious trailing through articles which have no revelance.
Summerville / Toney and now Duran are no goers
Flapped around with En Nesyri and he’s gone.
Apparently still have no end of choices, yeah, yeah.
Bergwijn (Ā£20m) / Angel Gomez (Ā£20m) look more nearer our costings

well, I remember hearing the same from readers when we were discussing Ā£30 mill offers for Max Kilman and we got ‘rubbished’.

  • DPC says:

As we have to play Villa before the window shuts why would Villa sell him to us until we have played them? As we also need a full back and Villa want shot of Matty Cash why not see what they want for him. A proven Premiership player and a full international.

Would this be the same Villa that tried and failed miserably to win a trophy in the Europa conference….well guess what….WE DID!! COYI

    • Hammeroo says:

They could say that it’s the same Villa that qualified for the next Champions League, so I wouldn’t push your argument on our third rate Conference League trophy. Just saying.

Can’t see this one happening, word on the street This is a smoke screen to get a better deal for Ivan Toney. Always lots of BS put out there during the window, most of it from greedy agents

  • Ian says:

We’re doing the right thing. This lad is potential not the finished article, and is not worth Ā£35m.

Childish comments-ner niki ner!Fact is that Villa want to buy Felix but they can’t unless they sell first. They won’t sell Duran at that price so they will have to drop the price if they really want Felix.

  • HammerRush says:

Well based on fan base and attendances, more people care about West Ham than Villa…..

    • Lee Megs says:

You rent a 60,000 seater stadium that’s why. Our 43000 seater stadium that we own is at capacity with 20,000 + on ST waiting list

  • Sid says:

Lol we are happy to keep Duran, we don’t need to sell him besides if Villa did then we’d have to pay that money out to replace him. Sounds like everyone at WH wants every other club to mitigate any issues for them, news, no one outside of West Ham cares about West Ham.

    • Graham Bennett says:

Stop all this messing about we need a goal scoring centre forward just buy the players you want.

    • John Ayris says:

Villa are not big with regards to revenue and very much do need to sell players if they’re going to buy players too that is. That’s the way of the world in these days of PSR when your revenue is nothing to write home about.

Exactly how many people outside of Villa care about Villa ? While there’s considerably less inside into the bargain.

It beggars belief the detached from reality comments that are made.

Villa want to buy Joao Felix last I heard, I can’t see that happening unless someone leaves is the harsh reality bottom line.

    • John simmonds says:

      That’s funny
No one outside of Villa cares about Villa
No.one out side of Arsenal cares about Arsenal
No one outside of Lpool cares about Lpool etc
However on the grapevine Its been heard that Lpool.care very much about Olly Watkins so maybe you’d best hold on to Duran. Even though he’s making it clear he wants out. What comes around goes around

    • Jim says:

Except you obviously. Or you wouldn’t be here posting šŸ˜‰
Oh and Jhon he seems pretty interested……….COYI

  • 14 says:

I wouldn’t be shocked if Villa become far more flexible once the first game of the season is over and done with…
