West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui has come under increasing pressure today following a revelation from one of Tim Steidten’s closest media allies.

Florian Plettenberg was at the forefront of most of the Hammers’ transfer dealings this summer, providing a number of exclusives.

It was Plettenberg who revealed the club’s transfer interest in Jean-Clair Todibo, as well as clarifying that Mohammed Kudus’s £85m buyout clause was actually active in June 2024, rather than the widely reported date of July 2025.

The Sky Sports Germany journalist is believed to have close ties with West Ham’s director of football, Steidten, so when he speaks, it’s worth paying attention.

Today, the ITK figure has thrown the name of former Hammers coach Edin Terzic into the ring with a social media update that is sure to make headlines.

Plettenberg wrote: “Former BVB coach Edin Terzic is a candidate in case West Ham United decides to replace manager Julen Lopetegui.

The 41-year-old has a good reputation at West Ham, where he worked from 2015-2017 as assistant coach under Slaven Bilic.

The 41-year-old is open to a new challenge and has also received interest from AC Milan, having already been in contact with their advisor, Zlatan Ibrahimović.”

The revelation is just the latest in a long line of leaks and revelations which have undermined Lopetegui’s position and appeared to emanate from a similar club source.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

It’s not just J-Lo it’s the players too. Soucek is too slow and is exposed when countered, Paq is a luxury player we cannot afford as most games it feels like 10 players as he is forever sloppy with his over egged football, it’s never simple, then we play with 10 as he persistently throws himself on the floor leaving you exposed after he loses possession. We need a solid 1 v1 LB similar to AWB. We Are missing a quick, powerful box to box player that may not be technically perfect, but has heart and pace and pure athleticism. We need a fast runner up top that is hungry for goals and use Micky as an impact sub when winning. We need to stop standing off when facing up defending to, as teams get way to much time and space to pass through us. We are relying on mo and Jared too much and needs to get the right players and right balance. The sooner we can get into a proper stadium the better aswell. The atmosphere is non existent, which the ghost of Upton park would be turning in it’s grave if it witnessed this atrocious debacle. A rocky road lies ahead as no way is sully gonna lose face and money over J Lo, as he’d rather squirm and hope for the best. Not good enough, actually NOW. COYI

Couldn’t agree more. Let’s cut our losses now. We should have always gone from a. Younger manager to build long term and who are more in touch with a progressive style of football. I think the signings we made (largely) are good. But JL is not the long term future of the club. Go for Edin or Potter asap. Get it done and move on

I concur we should get rid of JL and bring in Eden and then watch us go I can’t see JL turning things around I honestly think that the squad as a whole like or want to engage with JL one could say that kudus kicking off like that it has to be JL that has brought him to breaking point at spurs and the rest don’t seem to have any interest in what he says which is probably why none of them seem to know what position and style of play their all over the place getting in each other’s way and constantly giving the opposition the right to walk all over us JL needs to go now if we are to avoid scrapping around the relegation zone

    Yes please!

Don’t wait until Christmas or even worse till the end of the season. Sullivan needs to admit he got it badly wrong. J-Lo was never the right appointment after Moyes. Just hope he isn’t stubborn like he was with Avram Grant (how on earth did he get the job) and wait until the end of the season.

Edin knows the club, is young, dynamic and plays football we could enjoy!

I was happy Moyes left but respect what he did. My main concern wasn’t be careful what you wish for, but I Sullivan’s lack of insight in getting the right manager.

Graham Potter isn’t the answer and neither is the “must have Premiership experience”

Get Edinburgh in asap before some other ambitious club snaps him up!

Who’s Edinburgh and where has his name Come into the equation. We need to win our next two games otherwise it’s bye bye lopetugui. Still say give Frank lampard a, shot.
