Football ITK Fabrizio Romano has confirmed what Claret & Hugh reported earlier this evening: West Ham are making a substantial bid to outbid Juventus for Jean-Clair Todibo.

The transfer expert has gone even further by claiming that Todibo is scheduled to have his Hammers medical tomorrow in what would be an incredible coup for the club.

Speaking on his social media account, Romano wrote: “EXCLUSIVE: West Ham director Tim Steidten travels to Nice as they hijack the Jean-Clair Todibo deal! Juventus have been in talks for weeks but no green light from Nice. Agreement between West Ham and Nice now DONE for €40m plus a sell-on clause. West Ham is trying to book a medical on Friday!”

As revealed earlier this evening, West Ham decided to abandon the original loan deal for the French defender and instead make a significant monetary offer, confident that Juventus would be unable to match it.

Tomorrow should prove to be a very exciting day indeed.

    This is massive

Finally good news on this front! Let’s hope there are no setbacks this time.

  • Bonzo says:

Did Juventus not try and hijack the deal that we already had in place for Todibo? Except they couldn’t afford him. I’m seeing reports that we hijacked the Juventus deal. I thought it was the other way around. In any case if we pull it off it’s a big coup by us and shows how far we’ve come as a club the last few years.

  • D says:

Wow what a shocker. In a good way hope it’s true.

    • JD says:

If we can get this one over the line & finally get the Bissaka deal done, this will be a sensational summer of signings. Definitely European footie again next season. So excited to see West Ham get off & running….. ⚒️☘️

      • Kevlar says:

Juve offered champions league football we haven’t got any European football thanks to moyes !!! So you can’t hold that against todibo ! We could’ve signed yousef fofana from Monaco if we had European football as well ! It’s imperative that we qualify for Europa or champions league this season to entice the best players to join us COYI

        • 60sSupporter says:

Just to get this straight. Without Moyes we might never have got back into Europe in the first place, let alone win a cup.

Now, we have a new boss with what we expect to be a more attacking approach – so maybe better to watch – and collecting a new set of players with promise. But nothing more.

So I’m optimistic – yes – but we’ll have to wait and see how it all turns out.

  • Morkus says:

My only concern it that he clearly wanted to go to juventus rather than join us , not sure that’s the best terms to buy a player under

    • Arun Torgal says:

I agree, but if Juventus are unable to pay his present club that tells him they are not doing their best to get him. He will surely see the efforts of WestHam in trying to get him and that will change his mind.

    • Pongo says:

He is a proffessional footballer juventus can’t afford him, he is top class and he will prove it if he signs for us. He will value the fact that we regard him so highly that we bid 40 million for him.

  • michael cash says:

I will believe it only when it happens

  • Not A Circus F.C. says:

Wow.. in my opinion this would be the best signing out of the lot… Tim is incredible

  • Jay says:

If this materialises I will be over the moon. What a thing to read as I climb into bed. Won’t sleep for hours thinking about it

  • Mike J says:

This will be amazing if it happens! Fingers crossed!

  • S says:

    Out-f@-standing!

  • Ian says:

Must admit, although I really hoped it would happen, I never actually believed we could sign this lad. IF we do, I think it shows real ambition.

  • Paul Whitehead says:

Was busy typing a message, for the 2nd time, before website dynamics snatched them away.

    Shame

  • Neil Down Under says:

Good grief! The way Tim Steidten is going, by the end of this transfer window, we’ll have another right back, another left back, and an Mbappé!

  • Brendan says:

    Brilliant work Tim!!

  • Arun Torgal says:

This is great news indeed. Tim Steidten deserves all credit if this goes through. WestHam have been proactive for this deal. Todibo is a great player and will raise the level immediately.

  • Dutch Courage says:

Haven’t you been telling us for weeks that the player doesn’t want to play for us?

  • Pongo says:

Iirs not that he didn’t want it’s just that he fancied playing for juve, they can’t afford him we can and things move on thead is class and very proffessional have no fears.

  • Gruff Clemett says:

AWB NOW AND WE WILL WIN THE LEAGUE LOL 😆

  • Hazzy says:

It’s clear what will happen here. We’ll have him for a year and then he’ll be off to Man. Utd. who can’t sign him directly from Nice.

    • B says:

And the conspiracy theory emerges….. although that does make sense.
And what do West Ham gain in return?
Maybe a sweetened deal for AWB?
