West Ham United are in advanced talks with Leeds United over the signing of winger Crysencio Summerville, according to Sky Sports transfer expert Darmesh Sheth.

Reports from yesterday suggested that the Hammers had withdrawn from the race for the Dutchman after Leeds rejected a £20m transfer bid. However, it now appears that no such bid was made, and West Ham did not walk away from negotiations.

The Hammers have kept their transfer plans under wraps recently, and it’s clear that any information in the public domain is intentional.

Additionally, claims of £40m transfer bids for Summerville have been significantly exaggerated, with very few clubs able to afford such a high fee. West Ham remains hopeful of reaching an agreement for the player, who has emerged as a primary target to address a problem position for the squad. Sheth also reports that personal terms should not be a concern if the transfer proceeds.

Hardly breaking news, been reading the same story all day

  • Billy says:

Summerville exactly the type of player we need on the left wing and to fit the lopetegui style of play and to compliment Fullkrug in the middle.

  • Kevlar says:

Summerville with Duran and fofana in midfield would be decent! And then we need to get wan Bissaka and centre back in plus wahl from lens

  • Mark says:

Summerville is a quality winger who scores Goals, he has amazing pace & playing on the opposite wing to Bowen should be quite awesome, just need the right player in the middle, should have kept Mubama !

  • Derek Mitchell says:

Why can’t the club use cornet and or kings in part exchange

There’s rumours the club has suddenly received investment. All will be revealed soon enough.

If true then it only proves that this site and many others have no clue what is really happening behind the scenes, im sure in a while Simon will produce an article on why it won’t happen because he has seen some random tweet telling him so

I wonder at times if the people who make some of these comments are actual hammers fans, its quite refreshing though that most of them have run premiership football clubs ….

  • Mick says:

Summerfield has obviously no ambition by joining a Mickey mouse club!!

You can be disparaging about West Ham but they have been moderately successful in the Premier League whereas my team Leeds United have not, so you must only regard the elite clubs with respect. By the way you have difficulty naming the player and it is Summerville.

    • Lokfaen says:

Summerville would be an excellent signing! Incredible in Championship last year, and also did well for a struggling Leeds side in PL the year before. I’ve been wanting him on our left side for several years now and he could definitely break the left winger curse!

sullivan will poke his nose in want a deal over 30 years at a £1 a week then wonder why he gets told to do one

  • Jeeps says:

Never going to happen not even submitting a reasonable bid.
Just one that is taking the proverbial.

  • Chris says:

Wont be holding my breath Gonzo just waiting to hear what sullivan thinks as the deal collapses when he comes over the horizon
