A West Ham club source has denied reports that Niclas Fullkrug will need an operation to resolve his injury woes insisting it is too early to make that medical diagnosis.

However, the same source has admitted for the first time that the German striker has not settled in the UK as yet, which will fuel rumours that he could return to Germany this January at a loss from the £27m fee paid to Borussia Dortmund in instalments.

West Ham’s technical director Tim Steidten pushed hard for Fullkrug over the summer insisting he was a model professional and a real grafter, but the 31-year-old hasn’t been able to demonstrate that after he picked up an achilles injury while on International duty with Germany several months ago.

The top Hammers source speaking Exclusively to Claret and Hugh on Saturday morning has said the next few weeks will be crucial adding “He hasn’t settled in the UK. Let’s see what happens in the next few weeks”

I hope, anyone on the board reads you’re post. Every Hammers fan thinks it and why the hell didn’t we sign Toney??? Typical, dreams fade and die!!!!

  • Mogg says:

He’s not that injured. He’s felt the pace of the premier league and bottled it. He doesn’t like London/Essex and just wants to go back to Germany.

I think the same has happened with Liverpools summer signing

  • Ian the sub says:

I believe he has achilles tendinitis , which could be.a recurring problem , in which case it worsens over time . and then classified as achilles. tendinosis a career effecting injury . No wonder why the hierarchy are desperate to keep it under wraps! but in the teams best interest WE must go all out to get a genuine replacement A.S.A.P.

Honestly mate, what a w@@@@ article!
Sometimes its ok not to print anything if nothing is going on you muppet.

Trying to throw TS under the bus here are we. Let us see how much profit West Ham get when Alvarez and Kudus are sold compared to say Haller or Anderson. The Lopetegui appointment was absolute madness, the pre sale of season tickets has done the board a big favour because nobody wants to watch this.rubbish

  • Kip says:

    🤣🤣🤣hasn’t settled..hes not @@@@@g been here hardly .
.this could top the hugil signing..

Clowns 🤡 🤡 the lot of them.

    • Paul Taylor says:

Thank you, I was about to say the exact same thing, he’s just another Marc Boogers, Zaza in disguise absolutely effing useless. What a waste of £25m can’t even score from 18 yard’s. No doubt he’ll be for sale soon and we’ll be lucky to get £10m. What a club run by clowns the worst by far in the PL. Newcastle will win 4 – 1 and Arse 0 – 3 and then they’ll sack him, to little to late, we’ve just thrown away 6 points because Sullivan is totally incompetent.

  • David Moyes says:

    Not surprised

  • Phil Baker says:

Seemingly everyone bar Sullivan and Steidten knew that the Fulkrug transfer would fail and so it has . The reality is that even with Duran , JOKEpetegui’s childishly simplistic ‘ tactics ‘ would see Westham in about the same position as they are now . As Steidten has suggested the real mistake is employing LOSEpetegui who was sacked after 14 games with Real Madrid and just before the World Cup by Spain . How many goals do Westham need to concede against Newcastle and Arsenal for him to be sacked ? And do two narrow defeats mean that he stays long enough to lose the easier games through Christmas ?

  • TommyD says:

If we can sell him back to Germany and get half of what we paid for him then we should take the money and thank our lucky stars! I hope Agent Steidten gets a suitably sized brown envelope for his role in facilitating this rotten transfer.

  • Hammeroo says:

With our failings in the CF or striker department well documented, I’m trying to think when was the last time we actually had a good one. I’m thinking Dean Ashton was brilliant until being selected for an England cap became his undoing and he was knackered in training.

    Anybody else got better nominees?

    • Matt says:

Demba Ba, but we still got relegated thanks to the genius managerial appointment of Sullivan 🤦‍♂️

Then we lost Demba Ba for free due to his relegation clause 🤦‍♂️

    • 60sSupporter says:

Jimmy Greaves: scored twice on his debut at Maine Road. But of course it didn’t last very long due to his age, etc.

  • Matt says:

Our entire team is unsettled under JLo 🤡

  • John Lattimore says:

Does ‘hasn’t setlled” mean he hasn’t yet found accommodation or that he doesn’t like it here?

    • Matt says:

The West Ham fans don’t like it under JLo either! 🤡 Another amazing exclusive from C&H’s so called “top source” 🤩

    • Chicken Run news says:

I’m not surprised the guy hasn’t settled. He has been injured since August and has been travelling backwards and forwards for treatment. I know it is easy to criticise, but I prefer to make a judgement when he’s fit and playing regularly. Turning the guy into public enemy number one, just because he’s injured seems a bit harsh to me. Certainly Lopetegui on the other hand deserves some stick as he has had long enough to bed his ideas in

      • Matt says:

        Well said mate 👏

C&H constantly throwing an injured player 🇩🇪 and our 🇧🇷 kid under a bus even though the two of them have not had opportunities is just to fuel the anti Tim rhetoric.

Sully must enjoy their headlines and the dark arts being practiced off the pitch.

        • Bennyboy baker says:

Fullkurg never should have been signed given his injury record it isn’t a surprise that he is out injured it was always going to happen at some point I’m sure he is a great striker when fit but it is impossible to say as he hasn’t played a full 90 minutes since arriving at the London stadium it’s said that he hasn’t settled in London again not suppressing given that he was injured so early in the season with travelling back and forth to Germany he has not had any time to settle in at the club and what it’s like to live in London or surrounding areas hopefully he will get sorted and we can then judge him on his football skills instead of making assumptions

      • Alan says:

It’s not his fault of course but always a questionable bit of business to sign a player who turns 32 this season that has never played in the PL before for 27m and big wages over a four year contract.

The club should rightly get criticism over this deal. In reality the player needed to hit the ground running, there was never going a to be a bedding in period. We were signing this player for right now based on what he’d done at Dortmund and for Germany at international level.

We need him to recover from injury and give some return on investment. Not looking good so far though.
