West Ham academy star Lewis Orford has signed a new long-term contract with the club following a successful round of negotiations. This news is a significant boost for everyone at West Ham and for Orford himself, who comes from a family of Hammers fans.

At one point, the deal seemed precarious, with Aston Villa reportedly requesting Orford to be included in the proposed transfer of Jhon Duran to the London Stadium.

This five year contract marks the end of an excellent summer for the skilful midfielder, who successfully captained England U18s before featuring prominently under Julen Lopetegui during West Ham’s pre-season. Orford has enjoyed a outstanding couple of years in which he has lifted the FA Youth Cup as part of the Hammers under 18 team.

It’s understood that both Mark Noble and West Ham’s Director of Football, Tim Steidten, played key roles in the negotiations, ensuring Orford signed on the dotted line.

Great news and congratulations to all.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender ๐Ÿ˜ฌโš’๏ธ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

More West Ham moaning is done on a daily basis here ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

I wonder if he’d have signed if the relic was still.in charge?

Call me cynical but we were trying to trade him just a week or two ago. Signing him on a new deal makes him worth more the next time they try to sell him.

Great news and about time it was sorted, hopefully find him a decent loan move now thatโ€™s sorted as needs menโ€™s football to progress like Potts
