Areola:5 Could possibly have done better with the opener but was wrong-footed. No chance with the second goal.

Coufal:6 Committed as ever, it’s a shame that his technique didn’t match his endeavour.

Mavropanos:5 A bit of dodgy defending in the first half but a massive threat aerially.  Scored an own goal and allowed Brentford to equalise at 2-2. Bad error.

Aguerd:3 Mix-up with Soucek saw Brentford take the lead. Came under a lot of pressure and missed the presence of Alvarez. Had to help out Emerson. Poor for Brentford’s third. Talented player but he doesn’t talk or instruct enough.

Emerson:5 Mbeumo gave him a hard time. Got a card and had to watch himself. Infrequent attacks.

Soucek:5 Weak header led to Maupay’s opener. Defended well in the air.

Ward Prowse:6 Tough job in midfield with Soucek where he was outnumbered.

Kudus:8 Scored an incredible bicycle kick which will be replayed for years. Involved in West Ham’s second.

Bowen:7 Had a half chance on 16 mins following good link up with Kudus. Displayed impressive strikers instinct to score following a bundled effort from Kudus.

Benrahma:6 Put in an early cross on 25mins which caused havoc and led to Bowen’s goal. Enjoyed playing in a 442 against his former club. His lack of pace stops him truly impacting a game.

Antonio:4 Great wing play to set-up Kudus for the Hammers equaliser. Horrendous decision led to Antonio blazing a shot wide when Benrahma was poised to tap in from 1 yard.

Fornals:4 On for Benrahma. Blazed a chance over and should have done better for Brentford’s third.

Ings:2 Replaced Antonio as part of a double substitution in the 63rd min. Would Mubama really have less of an impact than Ings?
