Nottingham Forest have enquired about taking Reece Oxford on loan from West Ham says John Cross in the Daily Mirror.
Glasgow Rangers and Brentford have also been in touch this month about the 18-year-old prospect with offer of a loan for the remainder of the season.
Oxford made his competitive debut for the Hammers in 2015 in the Europa League at the age of 16, becoming the club’s youngest-ever player in the process.
He also made seven appearances in the Premier League that season.
He signed a new four-and-a-half year deal last month but has struggled for first-team opportunities this term although to be fair he has only just returned from injury.
The prospect of a loan to Brentford could bring a different dimension to a possible Scott Hogan deal with Oxford offered on loan as a possible sweetener to break the deadlock.
I hear ya No32…..
Sturridge wont sign
Sounds like a good idea if slav is certain he’s not going to be used..he needs the game time too……hopefully they’ll put a clause into any loan that stipulates that he plays if fit…it will also give him the chance to show us what he’s made of…..loaning young players out is great for their development too…..
Yep agree Hammer, worryingly the rumours suggest Sturridge signing for us before the window closes now, I expect this is just paper talk and hope so, we have just got rid of one lazy mercenary so I hope that despite the goals he may offer we don’t sign another.
Loan him to Brentford as part of the transfer deal, he needs games to improve COYI !!!
