West Ham are still – theoretically anyway – in need of a point to stop the spectre of Ipswich Town creeping up and threatening a relegation crisis on the last day of the season. Whether Graham Potter will be remotely ambitious in his set up against his old club or sit and defend for the first half will be seen at 3.pm.

In the meantime, the starting XI is due out any minute and we aim to be the first to bring it to you – as we know thousands of Hammers fans are on tenterhooks at this exciting point in a thrilling season.

Mohammed Kudus is now surely about to rediscover his best form to coincide with the ‘99%’ certainty that he’s about to be sold. Very ‘West Ham’ for him to smash in a couple of his world class best and then head off next month.

Graham Potter has picked his side to face Brighton and it has just been released:

West Ham United:

Areola | Todibo, Mavropanos, Kilman | Wan-Bissaka, Ward-Prowse, Soucek, Paquetá, Emerson | Bowen, Kudus

Come. On. You. Irons.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. Don't take my comments too seriously, imagine we are having a chat at half time over a pint at L S and "let's disagree without falling out".

Great goal by Soucek, another brilliant assist from Bowen. Hope we hang on to the points this time. 86th minute now. Game management!

    • Hammeroo says:

89th minute and we concede again. Too easy for Brighton. We still have not come from behind to win this season!

93rd minute of 93. And yes, we let in another one. We lose all 3 points within 7 minutes. Gutted!

1’0 down another fun filled weekend of west ham football…if i moan enough we might come back….but isn’t it depressing…its not if it’s how quickly we will concede now most of the time ..at least we lasted 19 min today…BUT again 2 fit forwards one not even on the bench and playing players out of position..

Enough said I think …im of to bed to read …so much more relaxing….I feel for our away fans ..paying out all the money travelling everywhere to watch whatever dross these half hearted players serve up……..as the board hides behind there big gated mansions not giving a fk ..just as long as the money keeps coming…sad sad times

    Good start

  • Essexiron42 says:

    No Ollie Scarles?

  • Mr Buddy Lurve says:

I can’t recall the last time I saw the line up and got excited about the game.

A back 5. Mavropanos. Soucek. No striker.

Where are the hungry, up and coming players? Why can’t Irving get a look in rather than the cumbersome Soucek? Why has Soler not been given the chance to actually show us what he can do?

This is fast turning into a joke. Oh wait, this is West Ham – we’re already there.

Get a grip Graham or sod off.

JWP selected yet again in the slowest least creative midfield in the Premiership despite his handbrake effect on the team and Mavrapanos and his error prone defensive mistakes.. No Fullkrug in the starting 11 yet Potter has the front to claim he understand the fan’s frustration, what a surprise after his interview last week. For goodness sake where is the ambition, the excitement and desire to attack and at least give fans something to shout about and actually entertain us, instead of the same boring negative football we play under Potter. So fed up with his defensive bland style and Moyesball tactics then wonders why Jonathan David wouldn’t dream of joining us!

    • Whippet hammer says:

If the uninspiring negative setup was successful, fair enough. It’s not. It’s slow, torturous and ineffective.
Give Guilherme a full 90 minutes. I’m assuming Scarles is unavailable, but give the youngsters some minutes too. We’ve literally nothing to lose. We can’t position ourselves any lower than we are, playing this turgid crap.
Another opportunity missed. We’ll end up in the summer still not knowing whether some of the young/ fringe players are viable prospects or not.

  • Ted Fenton says:

Expected Potter team. No striker, no ambition. I have seen enough of Potter who needs to realise he is in the entertainment business. I would have no problem if we were adventurous today and lost 4-3

  • Hammeroo says:

Fullkrug at Half-time or the last 10-20 minutes? Can’t really see us doing much better than losing 2-0. But anyway, Come On You Irons!🤞

  • Chris W says:

Fullkrug dropped. What a surprise! Lol.
