Brooking remembers those special nights

|

BrookingmanagerTrevor Brooking has been giving his memories of the Boleyn Ground and explained why he felt night games were always special under the famous lights. Speaking to Sky Sports News the West Ham former player, director and manager said:

“Night games – any West Ham player would tell you they were special because of the tightness of the crowd. When things were going well there was banter but when things were not going well they would convey their message.

“We had won the FA Cup in 1975, so the following season we were in the Cup Winners Cup. We played away and lost 2-1 and then here on a night game with the rain we won 3-1. I scored a couple of goals so it was special for me. That night was special.”

There’s been plenty of special days/ nights but I’m not going to turn into a quivering wreck or take a payday loan for countless boxes of kleenex. I’ll just remember standing side by side with my fellow irons in the good and bad times and remember the banter and laughs we’ve had. I’ll leave the the whose going to miss the ground the most debate to the ones that have been balling about it for the last 6 months and Mystic Bradders has reappeared so we’ve got 3 months of who we’re going to sign to look forward to lol.

Don’t go down that route again GW.We will get a lecture on individuals dealing with things in different way.I agree people deal with things in different ways,I just don’t want to read about it everyday from the same people telling the world they are crying again. If you want to cry then cry but I ain’t interested in hearing about it every couple of hours.

They can do what they want Stan but to use the amount of tears shed to show that you think your a better fan and then posting it time and time again is getting right on my tits lol. Its a bit like Kevin posting that he’s supported the Irons for 50 years after the occasional defeat and telling everyone he backed Slav but now hes wrong…

It will be like a monsoon with some of them, getting a bit concerned about flash flooding and match being cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch.

Funny how Hippo looks safe and we have a nightmare weekend and the doors to the asylum get opened,
Kevin and Bradders in 2 days,I really think they could actually be fans from another club
because they have no Claret blood running through the veins,
It will be hard for all,I payed my respects today in a flying visit,
Still brought back so much even though not a match day,
Any tears will be joy because although the ground will close the team is on the verge of something great and all the time you breathe no one can steal your memories
Have a great night lads cheer those boys home we need this win
