Bruce and Irons play cat and mouse on Diame

BruceyHull City boss Steve Bruce has this afternoon admitted for the first times he is interested in signing West Ham’s Mo Diame.

However, in a typically summer transfer window cat and mouse game, he declared that he has yet to make a bid.

West Ham sources have told ClaretandHugh that a bid of £3 million has been lodged which is £500,000 short of the trigger figure.

And another aspect to the clause says that Diame will need to be paid £50,000 a week which represents a £10k rise on his current salary.

Bruce declared: ““We haven’t made a bid but we are interested and we will keep on progressing.

“We have one or two things in the pipeline and lets see if we can push them over the line.”

However, at the Boleyn we were again told there had in fact been a bid and that City were expected to make another.
