Bruce has injury worries ahead of Irons visit

|

Haller could be available

West Ham head for Newcastle this weekend with Toon boss Steve Bruce anxious over a growing injury list.

The Hammers appear to have come through last night’s win over Chelsea with a clean bill of health apart from what a CandH insider described as a few bumps and bruises this morning.

Seb Haller is expected to be involved although it would be a surprise were he to start given his lack of games and the performance by the attacking players against the Blues.

Newcastle, however, suffered a problem to Sean Longstaff in the 4-1 win over Bournemouth although Bruce is not in  a position to decide on his fitness for the hammers game at this point.

Safe in mid table, Newcastle may choose to be cautious in their team selection as the Irons look to follow up on their massive win over Chelsea.

Commenting after the match on the south coast Bruce , as quoted by Chronicle Live, said: “We’ve got a few, although I’ll not quite know how bad for a little while.

“Sean’s got a hamstring that kept him off, which is a blow because I thought it was as good as I’ve seen him look.”

Asked about other injuries, Bruce said: “We’ve got one or two others – Manquillo’s got a bit of a strain – but I’ll not really know for the next 24 or 48 hours.”
