West Ham United are set to welcome their first signing of the Julen Lopetegui era, with Brazilian central defender Fabricio Bruno closing in on a move to the London Stadium.
An agreement has been reached with Flamengo for Bruno’s transfer, with a fee of £12.5 million rising to £15 million with potential add-ons, according to The Guardian.
All that remains is for Bruno to complete a medical and finalise the paperwork.
Bruno’s medical could happen sooner than usual for a player arriving from a new league. This is likely due to him not being selected for Brazil’s Copa America squad, freeing him up sooner.
While not included in the Copa America squad, Bruno was part of the Brazilian national team for their matches in March.
Fabricio Bruno appears on the verge of becoming West Ham’s first signing under new manager Julen Lopetegui. With a medical expected soon, the official announcement of the transfer could be imminent
Ok sounds good to get a decent centre half again … better to get him in before he possibly gets injured in the Coppa America
Let’s see what he can do for us ⚒️⚒️ COYI
Bruno’s still improving from what I’m reading. 3 years younger than Craig Dawson was when he joined us, and competing with Gabriel for a spot in the Brazil squad. Could be a bargain at the price.
Getting into the Brazilian team is no mean feat, he’s 26 so should be at the top of his game, why was he left out the Copa America squad?
Tbh I hadn’t heard of him before we were linked with him, so I know nothing about the player.
I guess Timmy knows what he’s talking about & judge him when he plays
Nitpicking I know but Bruno is 28
