BT to show the ECL final for free !
Good news for Hammers fan as BT Sport decide to stream the UEFA Champions League, Europa league and the Europa Conference league finals for free in the UK.
The broadcaster, which will join forces with Eurosport under the new name TNT Sports from July 18, has been the rights-holder delivering European competitions to UK viewers since the beginning of the 2015-16 season.
Viewers usually need a subscription to watch BT Sport, which costs £18 a month for 24 months, following an up-front one-off payment of £39.99.
However, the three 2023 European finals will be made free to air, either on the BT Sport app, on Virgin Media, or on the broadcaster’s YouTube channel.
Having said that one wonders whether they will be offering a refund to those people who already subscribe which seems a fair way of proceeding.
Mind you not a lot is fair in broadcasting and football.
