Burnley in no mood to encourage Irons

Burnley want to keep Josh Brownhill at the club amid links with West Ham, per a new report.

The Irons are said to be monitoring the midfielder ahead of a potential summer move.

Teamtalk reported over the weekend that the Hammers are interested in a move for the 25-year-old.

They are joined in the interest by Wolves, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.

But Lancs Live now reports that the Clarets are in no mood to part with Brownhill at the end of the season.

Neither the player himself nor Burnley are said to be interested in a sale, with Brownhill more than happy at Turf Moor.

He has made 36 appearances for Sean Dyche’s side since his move to the club from Championship side Bristol City in January of 2020.

He has a contract until 2024, leaving Burnley in a strong position to negotiate a big fee for the star at the end of the season.

One comment on “Burnley in no mood to encourage Irons

  1. I find it strange to be linked to players like this when we are supposed to be going to the next level to ensure we keep players like Rice, Soucek and others.
