Burnley man of interest

Irons are in talks with the Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill according to the Daily Express.

This latest development presumably may well have  been fuelled by speculation surrounding Lucas Paqueta’s future.

The loss of the Brazilian would be a real blow but we could have a bargain here as Burnley could may be prepared to cash in on Brownhill this summer, with his contract expiring next summer.

According to transfermarkt , he would be available for about £12m.

A hardworking, but not particularly flashy footballer, he had a good season in the Championship , but could he make the step up to the Premiership?

This could be an interesting signing, and one that would certainly add more strength to the Hammers squad.

As it stands, we have the makings of an exciting and competitive midfield with Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Tomas Soucek

Let’s keep an eye on this.

In my opinion, should the inevitable happen and Paqueta does leave then for me, the only one I would get to replace him is Eze from C.Palace.

Brownhill wouldn’t be “making the step up” to premier league football. He has already played almost 80 premier league games in the last 4 years!

Are we a progressive or regressive club ! If we are the former then this is not a signing we should be going anywhere near.

What happens to all the young exciting players we are supposed to be signing. A few weeks ago it was said we were in the final stages of signing Fofana of Monaco. Apparently it was only days away. Then it has been completely forgotten about. We haven’t heard a word about it. This week it was Mohammad Kudus. Apparently we were in the closing stages of discussions. Now complete silence. It’s like a bad repeating dream. Great young, highly regarded world class players, that are going to sign for us and then NOTHING.

It’s all theatre, the punchline is that we will buy an old knackered donkey like Origi or worse and dress them up as Christian Ronaldo in the press releases.
