Byram, Carroll and Sakho fitness updates

Sam Byram ...growing up

Sam Byram …growing up

Sam Byram will be fit to take his place at right back in the match against Sunderland at the weekend.

However, the bad news is that Michail Antonio will be sidelined for up to three weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in the crucial win over Swansea City at the weekend.

Byram was pictured leaving the London Stadium on crutches after taking a knock in the second half but ClaretandHugh was told this afternoon: “It’s not serious and he will be available for the weekend.”

However Slaven Bilic may decide to continue his protection policy over Andy Carroll and Diafra Carroll although they will both be in the squad and available should he choose to give either or both a run out.”

We were told: “Had either been seriously needed at the weekend they would have been thrown into the action but with the team a goal up it wasn’t necessary.

“The manager is trying to give them both as much recovery time as possible but it will be a surprise if neither of them were to play a part as they are both ok and keen to be involved.”

  1. My team Adrian, Byran, Collins, Fonte, Masauka, Fernandez, Kouyate, Lanzini, Snodgrass, Sakho and Calleri.

  2. “They are both ok and keen to be involved ” WTF.
This is still a crucial game,we are not out of the mire yet with Palace winning and in form.
If Hull beat Stoke and Swansea beat Watford with us losing we will be sucked in again.
We then have Everton Home,Stoke away, followed by Spurs and Liverpool at home with Burnley away as our last game. This is the easiest of the lot. Gamble on either Carroll or Sakho because our other strikers are **** without Antonio around.

  3. Play Diafra Sakho in the first half, and Andy Carroll in the second. Then have Calleri or Fletcher on the bench ready should Andy not complete his 45 mins + overtime Use Nordveidt as sub cover for the midfielders as Noble, Antonio and Obiang are out.

  4. BtoD we are sucked in now mate. I will be amazed if we finish above CP. All the experts made a big thing of their ‘tough run in’. But they have already beaten Chelsea & thrashed Arsenal. Hull also will be OK. Swansea are our main target. It will be a disgrace if we end up losing an 8pt lead but after our form in the last two months you could not rule it out. One more win should follow it, but I would settle for a point from Sunderland & hope to scrape one more win – hopefully before Burnley. The nerves won’t stand a final day decider!

  5. I would also class the Sunderland as a must win same as Swansea Slav must play his strongest team that means playing Sako perhaps first half then Carrol for the second I am fed up with the clubs conflicting reports when anyone is injured last week Sako was keen to play now we ar told he needs rest rubbish he needs to get match fit if he is not playingg in the reserves then he must be ready for the first team. I can see all the teams under us winnng at least one game so we desperately need to win against Sunderland
