Calleri wants to remain in Premier League

jonathan-calleri-800x504Hammer Jonathan Calleri has spoken of his ‘happiness’ at West Ham after starting in the last four games for the Hammers as he comes to the end of his season-long loan period.  The Argentine has struggled with life at the London Stadium and to adapt to the pace of the Premier League.

“I am happy to be here,” he told ESPN Brasil. “I’ve adapted to the what is the Premier League, to what is English football. I’ve learned to speak English a bit, which is what I was lacking. And the truth is I’m very happy here. I want to stay at West Ham or to go to another European club, which is what I’ve always wanted.”

Despite making seven appearances since the beginning of April, Calleri has been largely been considered ineffective for the Hammers by fans, have scored just once in 19 matches across all competitions this season.

Calleri is currently on loan at the club from Deportivo Maldonado with no option to buy although sources claim he could be available for around £16m should the Hammers want him.

  1. Good luck to him wherever he goes but unfortunately he’s not good enough for the Premiership!

    IMHO I must add!

  2. I really think he works hard. And a lot of our fans say we like a player that works his ass off and gives 100%
Unfortunately the guy just doesn’t have the quality to back that work rate up.
Who knows… maybe another season in the premier league would make him the striker everyone raved about.
Or maybe we are better off giving Martinez a chance to prove himself!

  3. “sources claim he could be available for around £16m should the Hammers want him.”

Surely that has to be the biggest tongue-in-cheek statement ever!

  4. The rib man is looking for an assistant if that counts aa staying in the prem?

  5. Martinez should get his chance now thats is for sure
